A baby girl for Karel

FORMER actress Karel Marquez is now a mother.

This was confirmed by the actress's mother thespian Pinky Marquez Saturday via a telephone interview on showbiz talkshow "Startalk."

The older Marquez said Karel gave birth to a baby girl named Kaylie Audriana at exactly 10:42 a.m. at St. Luke's Hospital in Quezon City.

Karel was at the recovery room, according to Pinky when she was interviewed by Startalk.

Asked what the next move is, Pinky said church wedding is now underway. "Yes, of course...They will, of course, get married. They plan things so meticulously. We're all so excited about this already. They are planning everything."

Karel and non-showbiz boyfriend Armand had a civil wedding last February 2008 in Australia.

When asked how the baby looks like, Pinky said: "If you'll see the pictures, they look alike and they look like us. Maybe all rolled into one. Who knows? We can't tell because it was only a few hours ago when I saw the baby."

Karel last appeared on GMA-7's superhero series "Zaido: Pulis Pangkalawakan."
