ABS-CBN's 'Boto Mo, iPatrol Mo' gets NYF silver medal

The news promo, produced by ABS-CBN's Creative Communications Management, called for public vigilance and an interactive, high-tech solution for safeguarding the ballots during last year's midterm elections.

Two ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs shows were also cited as finalists - "9/11 The Philippine Connection" in the news documentary category and "XXX" in the public affairs program category.

In entertainment, "Maalaala Mo Kaya's" "Jail" episode also received a finalist certificate.

"XXX" co-anchor Henry Omaga Diaz, who accepted the award for ABS-CBN said, the recognition proved that Filipino television journalists and practitioners are at par with the world's best.

This year, the New York Festivals' TV Broadcasting Awards received entries from 32 countries.

For the last 48 years, the international competition has been honoring the world's most outstanding news, documentary, information and entertainment programming, music videos, infomercials, promotion spots, openings and IDs.

Other ABS-CBN programs that previously won NYF awards were "TV Patrol" and "The Correspondents."
