Some of the most alluring and sexiest actresses of ABS-CBN are set to serve the sweetest and hottest dessert on primetime television in the new gag show - "Banana Split."

The first all-female-gag show stars Angelica Panganiban, Cristine Reyes, Roxanne Guinoo and Valerie Concepcion.

Sultry celebrities RR Enriquez, Princess Ryan and Dianne Medina are also joining the wacky-sexy show, which will tickle the funny bones of viewers.

"Ngayon lang po ako gagawa ng ganitong kaloka-lokong konsepto ng show so nakakatuwa po na (medyo sexy)," Panganiban said.

"Para sa akin ang comedy nasa sa iyo iyon. Nasa pagiging natural mo bilang tao. Pinanganak ako para sa show na ito kaya excited akong gawin ito," she added.

According to Guinoo, doing comedy is a challenge for her since she is really into drama.

"Mas mahirap siyang gawin compared to drama, dito binubuo namin iyong rapport so talagang nagbo-bonding kami at kailangan kasi sa comedy ay timing. Kung walang bonding sa amin hindi namin alam kung paano magsasaluhan sa mga eksena," she said.

Reyes said that doing comedy is lighter work for her since everything is funny and she really loves working with the other 'Banana Split' girls.

"At the same time kailangan mo din ng timing. Hindi siya napag-aaralan. Parang kailangan mayroon ka talagang timing sa sarili mo. Iyon lang ang kailangan," Reyes added.

Guest hunks

"Banana Split" which will air Saturdays will also showcase the hilarious side of guest actors like Zanjoe Marudo, Diether Ocampo, John Lloyd Cruz, Jake Cuenca and Sam Milby.

Edgar Mortiz, the show's director, said that they would be inviting a hunk actor every week to balance the girls' comedic antics.

"[This time] the girls will get to pull pranks and 'play' with the male guests," Mortiz said.

The girls shared that they will really enjoy doing the shows with handsome actors like Sam Milby and Zanjoe Marudo.

"Si Sam noong naka-trabaho ko siya sa Banana Split napansin ko na bagay siyang mag-comedy kasi hindi pa siya nagsasalita nakakatawa na siya at magaling siyang magbigay ng puncline," Enriquez said.

The show's director is confident that the actresses will do well in comedy given the well written materials and gags.

"Happy kami! Wala kaming problema although nanganganay pa sila dahil talagang hindi pa sila nagba-bond as a group. Nandoon na po iyong effort. Kapag binibigay namin ang sketch sa kanila ay tinatanggap nila at ginagawa nila nang maayos, walang problema," Franco Mortiz, one of the show's directors said.

The directors said that although the girls are not comedians, they are talented enough to be part of a comedy show.

"Lahat po sila ay magaganda at talented at may kanya-kanyang strength na ginagamit namin sa bawat sketch nakakatawa din po," Mortiz added.

"Banana Split is the female version of the 80's hit gag show "Goin' Bananas," which starred Bobot Mortiz, Christopher de Leon, Johnny Delgado and the late Jay Ilagan.

Watch the hottest girls in town doing comedy in "Banana Split," which will premiere this Saturday, October 11 after "Maalaala Mo Kaya" only on ABS-CBN.
