AGB Mega Manila TV Ratings (July 10-13): TV5's Talentadong Pinoy leaps to No. 1

The biggest news in the ratings game this weekend is that TV5 has conquered Saturday viewing--three of its programs made it to the winners' circle.

After placing third for the past few weeks, TV5's talent show Talentadong Pinoy made a major leap last Saturday, July 11, to lead all primetime programs. The show, hosted by Ryan Agoncillo, posted a rating of 26.2 percent. This is based on the latest overnight survey conducted by AGB Nielsen Phils. among Mega Manila households.

Coming in second behind Talentadong Pinoy was GMA-7's Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho with 25.3 percent; followed by Imbestigador (23.5 percent), and ABS-CBN's XXX (20.9 percent) to complete the Top 5.

The other slots were occupied by Maalaala Mo Kaya (20.6 percent), Are You The Next Big Star? (18 percent), Pinoy Records and The Singing Bee (16.5 percent).

Aside from Talentadong Pinoy, two other TV5 programs made it to the Top 10 rankings: Midnight DJ (No. 9) and, for the first time, Vic Sotto's Who Wants To Be A Millionaire (No. 10).

The daytime race was dominated by Eat Bulaga! by virtue of its 28.8 percent rating, which is more than 10 percent higher than its closest competitor, Wowowee with 18 percent.

Completing the Top 5 are Joey's Quirky World (17.1 percent), Cinema FPJ (15.4 percent), and Wish Ko Lang (14.2 percent).

The strong showing of TV5 programs, especially every Saturday, just proves that Philippine television is no longer dominated by the two giant networks.

ABS-CBN's weekly magazine show Rated K, hosted by Korina Sanchez, topped the primetime race last Sunday, July 12, with 24.7 percent.

It was followed by Mel & Joey (23.3 percent), the re-run of Rosalinda's first week titled Rosalinda: First Week, First Love (20.3 percent), Sharon (20.2 percent), and Kap's Amazing Stories (18.8 percent).

Taking the rest of the Top 10 are The Singing Bee, George and Cecil, Power of 10, Sunday's Best, and TV Patrol Linggo. All of these shows are from ABS-CBN, except for Power of 10.

GMA-7's musical-variety program SOP maintained its No. 1 position in the daytime race. SOP generated a rating of 16.4 percent against rival and second-placer ASAP '09's 15.1 percent.

Occupying the rest of the Top 10 are Joey's Quirky World (12.6 percent), Jollitown (12.4 percent), and Matanglawin (12.3 percent), Showbiz Central (12 percent), Dear Friend (11 percent), Your Song (10.1 percent), The Buzz (9.6 percent), and SpongeBob SquarePants (9.5 percent).

In the weekday programs, GMA-7's primetime newscast 24 Oras and action-adventure series Zorro are still in a tight race for primetime supremacy. 24 Oras took the lead last Friday, July 10, while Zorro grabbed the top slot Monday, July 13.

The other spots were consistently occupied by ABS-CBN's Tayong Dalawa, May Bukas Pa, Only You, TV Patrol World">TV Patrol World, and Boys Over Flowers; and GMA-7's Rosalinda, Adik Sa 'Yo, and All My Life.

The daytime race, on the other hand, is still ruled by Eat Bulaga!, with fellow Kapuso shows Kung Aagawin Mo ang Lahat Sa Akin, Ngayon at Kailanman, Hole in the Wall, and Daisy Siete trailing behind.
