Aljur’s accuser a showbiz wannabe?

WILL the acts of lasciviousness case filed against Aljur Abrenica by a fan named Michelle Saludo affect his popularity, particularly now that his love team with Kris Bernal is being launched on primetime by GMA-7 in the new series "All My Life"?

Michelle is said to be 15 years old and works as "promodizer" of a liquor product when she and Aljur met by chance last Holy Week at Puerto Galera. It’s said she wants to join showbiz; that’s why she already got a manager-agent. It’s said that her mom distributed her pictures to reporters she met in a gathering. Aljur got the surprise of his life when she filed a case against him.

According to a source, Aljur was with his parents and siblings in Puerto Galera that time, along with Moymoy Palaboy. The first time they met, the girl was wearing a bikini in a bar while promoting the liquor product. Moymoy swears Aljur didn’t even come near her that time. Then, the next day, the girl called them up and invited them to free drinks. Aljur’s younger brother agreed and they met her in the bar again. They even introduced the girl to Aljur’s parents and they had their picture taken as a group. That was the end of it. Aljur and the girl never had a time to be just by themselves. "At grabe naman kung gagawa si Aljur ng kalaswaan habang nandun ang buong pamilya niya," adds our informer.

Aljur is now represented by Atty. June Ambrosio, a feminist lawyer who’s also with the Department of Social Welfare.

He refuses to talk about the case. "I will just let our lawyer na siyang magsalita para sa akin," he says.

The lawyer says, "it appears to be just a case of misunderstanding between two teenagers, nothing remotely romantic or sexually predatory as initially reported. Aljur is constantly careful in his dealings with his fans, always upholding the highest standards in gentlemanly behavior, moral values and ethical conduct. He’s flying to the US to fulfill his commitments that had been made long before this controversy. Upon his return, he will immediately attend to and clear the matter."

After taping the first episode of his new show, "All My Life," Aljur left for New York to do a show for GMA Pinoy TV. As for Kris Bernal, she says she supports Aljur totally and she doesn’t believe the allegations against him. "Mabuti siyang tao and I’m sure lalabas din naman ang katotohanan," she says.

Aljur’s friend and companion at Puerto Galera, Moymoy Palaboy, says there are about 20 people from the place where they stayed who are all willing to testify in favor of Aljur that nothing really happened between him and his accuser.

Two new shows start on GMA-7 this Monday and both had their presscons last Thursday, one at lunch and the other at dinner. "Ngayon at Kailanman" starring Heart Evangelista and JC de Vera will replace "Paano Ba ang Mangarap?" in "Dramarama sa Hapon." "Adik Sa’Yo" starring Jolina Magdangal, Marvin Agustin, Dennis Trillo and Jennica Garcia will replace "All About Eve" in GMA Telebabad.

"Ngayon at Kailanman" is a TV remake of the 1992 romantic hit starring Sharon Cuneta and Richard Gomez. Ayra (Heart), a young woman from a rich family, is sent by her dad (Charlie Davao) abroad to stop her romance with a poor guy, Edwin (JC). When she returns home after her dad died, she learns that all the land in their hacienda now belongs to Edwin. Her brother (Luis Alandy) convinces her that Edwin just stole their family’s wealth. Edwin remains in love with Ayra and she agrees to marry him just to get back their property. Reprising the villain role played by Cherie Gil in the original is Arci Munoz in her most challenging role to date.

"Adik Sa’Yo" is a romantic-comedy directed by Joel Lamangan who just proved he’s adept at doing such light materials in the hit Richard-KC flick "When I Met U." Dennis Trillo stars as a Batangueno who sells local wine called tuba. He’s in love with childhood friend Pauleen Luna who’s more interested in being a Sex Bomb dancer. He’s eventually paired with Jennica Garcia, a shopaholic bratinella who’s the daughter of Elizabeth Oropesa and Joey Marquez, a noveau riche couple who got rich manufacturing sardines. Marvin Agustin is a businessman-sculptor engaged to be married to Jennica, but on their wedding day, she runs away and leaves him in the altar. Secretly in love with him is Jolina Magdangal, the half-sister of Jennica. Jolina is N.B.S.B. for No Boyfriend Since Birth. Also in the cast are Chanda Romero, Eugene Domingo, Kuya Germs, Charisse Solomon, Luz Valdes, Mosang, Iwa Motto, Benjie Paras, Tony Mabesa, Ces Quesada and Vanes del Moral.

Another actress who’s name is being dragged into the scandal is Bea Alonzo. It’s said one of the victims in the video is a young actress who’s seen undressing on cam and there are those who concluded it’s her. "That’s funny because I’ve never met him (Hayden)," she says. "Kahit sa clinic ni Dr. Belo or when I did a commercial for her clinic, never siyang naipakilala sa’kin at all. Tapos nagulat na lang akowhen a columnist called me up to ask kung kasama raw ako roon sa sex video. I thought he’s just joking kaya hindi talaga ako nag-worry at all. Tinawanan ko pa nga. But lately, pinag-uusapan na ng ibang tao, lumalaki na, and you know naman kapag nagpasalin-salin na, baka akalain ng mga tao na totoo nga. So I want to make it clear na never kong na-meet ‘yung taong ‘yun so imposibleng magkaroon ako ng video. Kaya wag silang maniniwala dahil hindi talaga totoo. Huwag na nila akong isali at nananahimik ako. But I sympathize completelysa mga nabiktima. It’s so unfair for them. Sana mabigyan sila ng justice."

Bangs Garcia is one of Star Magic birthday celebrants. She turned 22 on May 26. Her real name is Valerie, but there’s already Valerie Concepcion so she’s now using her nickname. She was given a plum role in "Palos" and now plays a villain role in "Kambal sa Uma" as Shaina Magdayao’s scheming half-sister. She’s also in TV-5’s hit Saturday night horror show, "Midnight DJ," with Oyo Sotto. She refuses to go sexy in the movies but she did a sexy pictorial for FHM last May that elicited good feedback so she might go sexy later. She has just finished two new films, the drama about seamen, "Marino," and the horror flick "Rock en Roll" where she works with Kapuso stars like Mark Herras, Rainier Castillo and Ryza Cenon.

In "Marino," she plays the first girlfriend of Allen Dizon who his family favors, but he dumps her and chose to marry Ara Mina instead. "Bale ito ang first movie ko," she says. "Dapat, sexy ang role ko, pero dahil ayoko magpa-sexy, ginawang conservative probinsiyana ang role ko. It’s a good movie with a good message about OFW’s and the family they leave behind kaya I’m glad to be a part of it. I have memorable scenes with Ara na awkward kami dahil nga ako ang gusto ng family ni Allen for him and they don’t like her kaya nagkakailangan kami sa isa’t isa."

Other Star Magic celebrants for May are kiddie stars Miles Ocampo (daughter of Sharon Cuneta in "Best Friends Forever"), Angel Sy (the young Melissa Ricks in "Kambal sa Uma" and young Karylle in "Dahil May Isang Ikaw"), and Nikki Bagaporo (a "Goin’ Bulilit" mainstay).
