All about Eve at Mags

A glitzy, star-studded affair marked the opening of Mags Fashion Boutique’s eighth outlet recently at the new wing of SM San Fernando, Pampanga.

The blessing, candle-lightning and ribbon-cutting rites were led by the brand’s image model Rica Peralejo, together with businesswoman Sandy Tang (better half of tycoon Ramon Tang), actress Krista Ranillo, sexy siren Maureen Larrazabal, proprietress Mags Lopez Calpito-Cue, Miss World ’73 runner-up Evangeline Pascual, former Mutya ng Pilipinas titlist Market Moraies-Espinosa, lawyer Manette Agbayani and wellness beauty guru Camille Agbayani.

Throngs of curious mall-goers gathered around the cordoned area for a glimpse of the celebrity guests present. The other VIPs joining the unveiling were, among others, Mags corporate consultant and Iloilo-based Nonoy Ybiernas, banker Joy Fong, dermatologist Dr. Jonathan Dizon, businessman Eric Ting and model Daniel Yusay.

Mags Fashion Boutique is an all-ladies hub that offers trendy and stylish women’s apparel, bags, footwear and accessories. All the merchandise is procured from other Asian countries such as Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, Korea, Thailand and India. "The trend is always ahead abroad, that’s why I source my goods there," explains Mags.

Mags is happily married to Oliver John Cue. The couple is blessed with an all-male brood: Patrick (11), Paolo (10) and Andrei (6).

Other Mags boutiques are located in SM Cebu, Limketkai Mall in Cagayan de Oro City, SM Iloilo, the Maze Boutique inside Ayala Center Cebu, SM North Edsa and SM Davao. The brand will open at the Robinson’s Galleria branch within the year.

Jobert Sucaldito’s star-studded bash

All roads led to the recent birthday celebration of our dear friend from way back, Jobert Sucaldito, who is a segment host of Boy Abunda’s top-rated talk show, The Buzz. In the early days Jobert was into all sorts of activities such as theater arts, managing talents, writing for entertainment and the like.

Now he has found his metier, writing for entertainment and TV hosting, which takes up much of his time. On the side, he takes to producing occasional concerts, putting to good use his connections in showbiz.

Jobert held his birthday bash at Borromeo Steakhouse, Morato Avenue. Old and new friends were there to greet him and not a few celebrities and politicians were there to grace as well as lend glitter to the occasion. After all, Jobert is showbiz’s fair-haired boy at the moment. Cheers, Jobert. And stay as sweet as you are. I love you, kapatid!

Triple treat at A. Venue
