Ambassador KC makes Sharon worry

MANILA - Megastar Sharon Cuneta said she gets a bit nervous when her daughter KC Concepcion goes out on missions for the United Nations World Food Programme. (UN WFP).

Concepcion, the WFP's national ambassador against hunger, is busy going to places around the country to hand out donations for evacuees affected by floods brought by storms Ondoy and Pepeng.

"Nakaka-nerbiyos. But I would do the same thing. 'Yon ang pinalaki sa kanya, so I'm very proud of her," Cuneta told "SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon."

Cuneta believes that no harm will come to her daughter during her campaigns against worldwide hunger, since the young actress is "doing good deeds."

"I think kapag mayroon kang kabutihang ginagawa sa kapwa mo, pino-protektahan ka naman ng Panginoon. I love her so much and I'm so proud of her. And I always pray for her," Cuneta said.

The Megastar is also going her share in helping typhoon victims by participating in the collaborative project "Kaya Natin Ito."

The "Kaya Natin Ito" single is composed by Ogie Alcasid and will feature the voices of various artists like Regine Velasquez, Karylle, Rico Blanco, Christian Bautista, Jolina Magdangal, Jay-R, and Agot Isidro.

Other featured artists include Erik Santos, Charice, Arnel Pineda, Sitti, Kris Lawrence, Dingdong Avanzado and Nina.

Proceeds from the CD's sales will be given to the Philippine National Red Cross and its relief operations.

"Ang galing ni Ogie na para pagsamahin kami lahat sa proyektong ito. And knowing in your heart that it's for a good cause. So sana maging uplifting. Makatulong sana nang malaki ang proceeds nito para sa relief operations," Cuneta said.

The veteran singer and actress is also giving donations to evacuees through ABS-CBN's Sagip Kapamilya, a disaster relief agency.

Currently, Cuneta is gearing up for her upcoming film "Mano Po 6" under Regal Films. She will be working with stars like Kris Aquino, Zsa Zsa Padilla, and Heart Evangelista.
