CRIS Villanueva and Criselda Volks have broken up again and this time, they both say its for good. It will be remembered that they separated a few months ago and Criselda even guested in The S Files denouncing Cris, only to reconcile with him a couple of days later. When we interviewed Cris then at the presscon of Ganti in Now and Forever, he said their misunderstanding was just magnified out of proportion.

They lived together again (they were never married as Cris is legally married to a non-showbiz girl) for more than a month and had another fight. This time, Cris is no longer returning to Criselda as he has found a new love, a lady dentist. Criselda says shes not hoping for them to kiss and make up anymore after they lived in for 10 years. She just wants Cris to send regular support for their son, Rafael, 7 years old. Some folks are linking Criselda to model-actor Jet Alcantara, but she says theyre just friends and are not all romantically connected.

Paolo Contis relationship with Bubbles Paraiso (sister of Paolo Paraiso) didnt last very long. Someone told us Bubbles felt Paolo is taking her for granted and not spending enough time with her. Paolo concedes that this is true, since he is so busy these days taping for "Sugo," "Bubble Gang," and also for the recent "Magpakailanman" episode where he played Rodel Velayo. Hes also shooting the Regal comedy "Hari ng Sablay" where hes paired with Bianca King.

"But we parted as friends," says Paolo. "When Im free, we still go to the gym together to work out. Pero talagang very busy angschedule ko these days kaya mahirap magkaroon ng commitment."

Bubbles is Paolos fourth girlfriend after Carol Banawa, Desiree del Valle and Nancy Castiliogne.

We did not know model-TV host Bianca Araneta is preggy so we were kinda surprised when we saw her at Glorietta and her tummy must be five or six months old. Is it true the father is the scion of an equally well known and rich family who has no intentions of tying the knot with her?

Meantime, we heard that the non-showbiz girlfriend of Jeffrey Quizon is also pregnant and is giving birth any time soon. This is Jeffreys first apo for his dad, Dolphy.

At this time when our country faces so many problems caused by our corrupt leaders, Jed Madela and Rizza Navales, our representatives to the World Champions of Performing Arts (WCOPA) held from August 6 to 16 at the Burbank Hilton Hotel in Hollywood, California, give us reasons to be proud. Solo, Jed won in 7 categories: Overall Vocals World Champion, Overall Male Vocals World Champion, Gold Medal, Pop-Male (he sang "I Dont Wanna Miss a Thing"). Gold Medal, Broadway-Male (he sang "Home"). Gold Medal, Original Song-Male ("Be My Lady") and Gold Medal-Gospel, Male ("Take Me Out of the Dark"). He also won the highest prize: 2005 Grand World Champion for the Performing Arts, across all categories.

Rizza won in 5 categories: Overall Female Vocals World Champion. Gold Medal, Pop-Female ("On the Wings of Love"). Gold Medal -Broadway ("Memory"). Gold Medal, Original Song-("Ill Never Say Goodbye"). Silver Medal, R&B-Female ("If I Aint Got You"). As a duet, they won in 3 categories: Overall Duet-Group Vocals World Champion. Gold Medal, Pop-Duet ("Youre My Angel"). Gold Medal -Broadway-Duet ("Last Night of the World" from "Miss Saigon"). According to WCOPA executives, never in their 11-year history had they witnessed such a magnificcent sweep of awards by just one nation. And no Asian has won there so far! O, di ba ang galing talaga ng Pinoy!

The WCOPA is a prestigious global event patterned after the Olympics and supported by California Governor Arnold Schwarzen-egger. It had 1,000 contestants from 51 countries from around the globe. This is the first time that the Philippines competed and we immediately made our presence felt even if we had only two representatives. Other countries sent us much as 150 (U.S.A.) to 250 (South Africa) contestants. Ida Henares is the head of our delegation and shes been appointed by the WCOPA Council as National Director of the Philippines for all WCOPA events. Due to our impressive showing, the council has allotted 20 slots for Pinoys in next years competition to participate in the other categories like dance, acting, modeling, and instrumentalist.

The invitation to Ida was made through Mendrei and Cecile Leelin, owners of Goldilocks U.S.A., who introduced her to the WCOPA execs who asked her to organize a Filipino team. She personally chose Jed and Rizza to represent us. Event coordinator Mike Chiong helped her get support from PAGCOR and PAL, and other sources. Universal Records, who has released the solo albums of both Jed and Rizza, supplied the minus ones of their songs for all categories. Bobson made their competition costumes while Maxi Cinco designed their national costumes for the Parade of Nations.

"It was clear the Lord helped in fixing everything for us," says Ida.

After they won, they were treated to Las Vegas to watch Lani Misaluchas show and they were booked in the exclusive Palazzo Hotel 3-bedroom suite usually occupied by Janet Jackson. It was Lanis birthday and they went to her party attended by bookers and nightclub owners. Jed and Rizza were asked to sing and they wowed the crowd so now they have their own offers to perform there.

One thing becomes clear: we cannot expect anything from our selfish public officials, but we can expect our entertainers to bring honor and triumph to our country.

Tagged as the Singers Singer, Jed Madela is joining "ASAP" starting this Sunday as a mainstay with the other singing champions: Sarah Geronimo, Erik Santos, Mark Bautista, Christian Bautista, Sheryn Regis, Jerome Sala, and Rachelle Ann Go. We ask Jed if its hes really courting Rachelle Ann and he said yes. "I sent her flowers and a teddy bear and we text each other," he says.

What does he find lovable in her? "Were both close to the Lord and to our respective families. But I havent seen her lately as I got busy. Sa ASAP pa lang kami uli magkikita this Sunday."

Is he aware that Christian Bautista is also wooing her? "Kaya nga medyo tumigil ako. Pero di ba showbiz love team lang yon?Di may the best man win na lang."

If hed choose one song to sing for Rachelle, what would it be? "Love Always Finds A Way."

Jed is John Edward Tajanlangit in real life. "Madela is my grandmas family name. Ive been joining singing contests in Iloilo since I was a child, but my dad didnt want me to join showbiz. I finished business administration at San Agustin College in Iloilo when I was only 19. My dad told me to apply in an airline and I was hired as flight attendant. I was about to go to Michigan for training, but a band got me to be their vocalist so I joined them as my heart is really in it. Nagalit ang dad ko. He only relented when I won in the Voice of Asia in Kazakhstan. He finally gave his blessings."

The first time we heard Jed sing at Dish in Rockwell, we were so enthralled by his voice. He can shift from low to high notes without much effort. "Voice placement lang yon," he tells us. His new album, "Songs Rediscovered," is a real collectors item and we urge you to get your own copy. His rendition of songs like "The Search Is Over," "Heaven Knows," "The Past," "Changes in My Life," "Cant Cry Hard Enough" and "More Than Youll Ever Know" are all knockouts. We keep on hearing some folks say: "Wala pang pumapalit kina Martin at Gary." Thats not true. Heres Jed. All other "singer-singerans" better give way.
