Angel in awe of Vilma

Angel Locsin revealed that between Batangas Governor Vilma Santos and TV host Edu Manzano, parents of her boyfriend Luis "Lucky" Manzano, she is closer to Ate Vi.

"Siya (referring to Governor Vi) kasi ang madalas kong makita," she explained.

Even if she frequently sees her, she admits to still be in awe of Governor Vi. Angel had even played the role of the movie queen's daughter in one of the "Mano Po" movies.

"I don't want to even think that I can be like her someday.Maski lang bilang artista. Kasi, sa showbiz, she is considered one of the best.

"E kahit she has accomplished so much, including in their field of politics, ang bait bait pa rin niya," Angel said.

Told that Governor Vi admires her too, for being a good influence on Luis, Angel said with a smile: "Maganda ang pagpapalaking ginawa niya kay Luis kaya lumaki itong mabait at madaling pakisamahan."

Angel has started work on her first movie with Star Cinema which pairs her with her "Lobo" leading man, Piolo Pascual. A cowboy movie, it will be directed by Rory Quintos and will be filmed in Bukidnon and Darwin, Australia.

To prepare for their roles in the yet-untitled flick, they are being taking riding lessons under top equestrian Vic Barba.

Piolo said that to be a good rider, he is undergoing a new kind of workout. He is strengthening his upper legs and his abdomen has to be flatter.

"When you mount a horse kasi you have to be light," he explained.

He finds horseback riding an exciting sport. While Angel has fallen from a horse, Piolo has taken to riding quite well. He has advised Angel to be more careful.

We learned from Piolo that he recently helped finance the production of an independent film project. It is a twinbill which also features him in the lead. The project is inspired by two award-winning movies, "Jaguar" and "City After Dark," by the late directors Lino Brocka and Ishmael Bernal, respectively.

"Pero hindi ito adaptation," Piolo said. "Iba ito. Raya Martin and Adolf Alix direct."

Ruffa is a busy mom. She is not only a co-host of the Sunday show "The Buzz" with Cristy Fermin and Boy Abunda but she also stars in the newteleserye, "Betty La Fea."

She plays a kontrabida, her first time to essay such a role. "Pero glamorosang kontrabida ako, ha," she said. "I am supposed to be a fashion icon, kaya sa mga damit pa lang na isusuot ko, marami ang alam kong magtataas ng kilay. ABS-CBN made sure that some of our best local designers will provide my costumes."

"I am, of course, making use of my imported wardrobe, too.

"Maski ang mga alahas kong gagamitin, talagang eye-catchers. Ang gaganda talaga. A named jeweler will also provide me with all the jewelry I will use.

"The shoes I will wear are my own, though. I'm a size 10 kaya mahirap akong bumili ng sapatos dito sa Pilipinas. I order my shoes online. They are imported.

"So far, may mga napili na akong bags sa collection ng Mommy (Annabelle Rama) ko. She has a passion for imported bags. Some, she bought herself, while the rest are gifts from her friends.

Now that she has two regular TV shows, aside from attending to her other commitments such as her endorsements and personal appearances, we asked Ruffa how she makes time to be a good mom to her daughters, Lorin and Venice.

"I made arrangements with my producer before sinimulan ko ang teleserye na dpat matapos lahat ng eksena ko on or before 12 midnight. I want to be home, I told her, before 1 a.m. Para by two in the morning, tulog na ako.

"I wake up early so I can see my two girls before they leave for school. Sinasaluhan ko rin sila sa breakfast nila. Pag-alis nila, saka ako natutulog muli. Usually kasi after lunch ang tapingko."

On when she plans to fall in love again, Ruffa said, "With the schedule I follow, do you think I will find time for that?"
