| Angeli defends EchoColumn: Freehand ANGELI Pangilinan called us up to clarify some things about Heart Evangelista's statement against Jericho Rosales. "I really feel sad about the whole thing because I consider Heart as family, but I don't really know now where she's coming from," she says. "When she returned from the U. S. up to the time Echo left for Malaysia, okay na okay sila and were even inseparable, so he had no inkling something like this would happen. But on the day he left, that's when Heart called me to tell me she's already leaving Genesis as she's going back to her parents. It happened too fast, but we respected her decision and we had a proper turnover, even with my staff. When Echo called me later and said we take good care of her, I told him Heart has already left Genesis and he was surprised. She says she felt jealous when she saw Echo hugging his leading lady in 'I Love You Virus', Brianna Evigan. That happened on the last day of the shoot and it was a wrap up party where everybody's hugging everybody. I was there and even the producer hugged me because he was also very pleased with Gary's (Valenciano) performance in the movie. Echo hugged Brianna to say goodbye as he knows they won't see each other again. And why would she feel jealous when Brianna's boyfriend was there? Nakakahiya nga kina Brianna and doon sa boyfriend if ever they found out about this. Yes, Echo also had a kissing scene with Brianna in the movie but he agonized about that and talked about it with his Pastor for two hours because he and Heart made a previous decision that they wouldn't do kissing scenes anymore. The last time he kissed someone was Heart and that was in 'Ang Panday'. Charo Santos even talked to Heart and told her that one reason they can't assign her more roles is because of her limitations. I don't want to talk about it sana pero para namang ang sama-sama lumabas ni Echo when he's a changed man ever since he became spiritual. Ayaw na nga niya magsalita uli. I hope one day he and Heart can still be friends. " ROXANNE "REPLACES" KRISTINE AFTER Kristine Hermosa, it'll be Roxanne Guinoo's turn to light up ABS-CBN's afternoon viewing called Hapontastic. Kristine's "Prinsesa ng Banyera," that ran for nine months, is ending on Friday, May 23, and replacing it is Roxanne's "Ligaw". Will Roxanne be able to make her show rate higher? Personally, we find the title "Ligaw" quite confusing as it has two meanings. It can mean "courtship" and "lost". Viewers might be wondering what it really means, unless the makers of the series intentionally want the public to wonder what it really signifies. This is Roxanne's most challenging assignment since "Natutulog Ba ang Diyos. " "I play Leya Alegro," she says. "A woman with a very complicated life and I try to put all the shattered pieces together again by finding my family and my one true love. " Roxanne, who was discovered in Star Circle Quest, has two leading men: Sid Lucero as her childhood sweetheart, Billy, and VJ and Kjwan band member Marc Abaya in his first big role as Francis. Both Kristine and Roxanne will have the same contravida: Ara Mina. Supporting them are Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno in his comeback role, Noni Buencamino, Coco Martin, Jodi Sta. Maria, Dominic Ochoa, Arlene Muhlach, Carla Humphries, Smokey Manaloto, Joem Bascon, Erich Gonzales, Matteo Guidicelli, and Jaymee Joaquin, under the direction of Andoy Ranay. JOHN CAN'T FOLLOW PRISCILLA TO BRAZIL SHARON Cuneta and John Estrada were seated beside each other at the presscon of "Caregiver" where they play wife and husband. John revealed that he first met Sharon when she was still going steady with his friend, Richard Gomez, with whom he's doing "Palibhasa Lalake" then. Sharon, in turn, revealed that John was head-over-heels in love with Janice de Belen then. "Patay na patay siya," Sharon says. "So I warned him na huwag lokohin si Janice as she's my friend. " So much water has passed under the bridge since then. Sharon has married Sen. Kiko Pangilinan and they have two lovely daughters while Richard married Lucy Torres and they have Juliana. John married Janice and they had four kids, two of whom are now teenagers, and he got romantically involved with Vanessa del Bianco and now, with former Ms. Earth Priscilla Mereilles. How is the relationship of his kids with Priscilla? "They're okay," says John. "I took Priscilla with me when I attended the graduation of our eldest daughter so magkakilala sila. " Did he formally introduce her to Janice? "No, kasi we were seated far from her. We're not avoiding each other. Matagal na rin kaming hiwalay at may kanya-kanya na kaming buhay. " Has he met Janice's new lawyer boyfriend who's a member of the Iglesia ni Cristo? "No, not yet. " Priscilla is currently in her native Brazil and wants John to follow her. "Pero busy ako with the promo of 'Caregiver' that is opening on May 28, so hindi pa ako makakasunod sa kanya. I'm very thankful to Star Cinema for giving me the chance to work with the Megastar. After working with her, I realized she reached her stature in the business because she has remained humble and simple. " It's about a couple in Baguio whose baby was decapitated while being delivered last March by the mother, Amy. She and her husband, Abe, live in Baguio and are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their baby girl who'll be named Ayesa Bea. Imagine their horror when they saw the baby's head lying on the floor and it was later just sewn up to the dead body of their child. In her death certificate, a bone disease called osteogenesis impefecta was said to have caused her death. It was not mentioned in the certificate that the baby's head was cut off from the body during the delivery. The hospital's statement also opposes the results of the medico-legal. With the NBI's help, Imbestigador finds out the lapses that happened during Amy's delivery. Meanwhile, an NFA rice store in Montalban sells low-priced rice only if you'd also buy canned goods and other items from them. Consumers, mostly poor, say that the store rather puts a toll on their already-meager income with the obligatory purchase that goes with the NFA rice. Imbestigador probes whether or not the selling of the package is fair to the consumers. In Prieto Diaz, Sorsogon, worm-like "sulpo" is the most common form of energizer. These creatures are available on the shore during low-tide. When touched, "sulpo" is elongated. This is said to be an ingredient added to "Soup Number 5" in Bicol. Natives tell "sulpo" is a good reinforcement of masculinity. How true is the claim? Catch these engrossing investigative stories with Mike Enriquez in Imbestigador tonight. Source: People's Journal |
