| Anne was in Dereks life before Angelica![]() Author: Ethel Ramos IN a wedding gown designed and executed by couturier-designer Francis Libiran, Anne Curtis looked every inch the beautiful bride everyone envisions she would be. But alas, she had two bridegrooms, Derek Ramsey and Zanjoe Marudo, who play her leading men in her new teleserye, "The Wedding" for ABS-CBN. And the occasion featuring her as a bride-to-be was a mock wedding organized by the projects Business head, Raymund Dizon, and his staff for the presscon of "The Wedding." "Pero, sa totoo lang," said Anne, "I felt truly like a bride lalo when I wore the white veil. Kinilabutan ako. "I guess most brides get this mixed feeling kapag suot na nila ang wedding gown. Aba, its just a matter of time at maiiba nang lubusan ang buhay mo." Seriously now, we told Anne, how lucky she is to have two handsome leading men in "The Wedding." But presuming, we asked, she was going to wed one of them in real life, who would she choose? Anne laughed and bantered: "Sige nga, kung ikaw, who would you choose? "Actually, wala kang itulak-kabigin sa kanila. Both are husband material. Sayang nga at they are both taken." Everyone, of course, knows that for nearly three years now, Derek and Angelica Panganiban, also an ABS-CBN talent, have been a twosome. In any case, heres a secret which was unwrapped during the presscon for "The Wedding." Sometime back, when Derek was just a struggling newcomer and Anne wasnt recognized yet as the young actress that she is now, something beautiful happened between them. "But let me specify that this happened long before Derek and Angelica became sweethearts," related Anne. "Actually," Derek cut in, "walang problema. Wala akong isini-sekreto kay Angel." In the case of Zanjoe, the guys currently singing beautiful music with actress cum TV host Mariel Rodriguez. *** In "The Wedding," Anne plays Candice, a rich and sophisticated girl whose main goal is to marry the guy of her dreams, Warren, played by Derek. Warren, however, has to leave for the US. But Candice is determined to get married, as she has discovered that her parents (played by Eula Valdez and Michael de Mesa) marriage is falling apart. She finds her man in Marlon (Zanjoe), who says he is ready to fall in love but not get married. "Im so proud of this project," Anne enthused. "All the elements that TV viewers love in a Koreanovela are all here. In fact, even more. The humor and romance are Pinoy." Directing "The Wedding" are two of local TVs most formidable directors, Mae Cruz and Jeffrey Jesturian. *** Out in the market now is the video of Star Cinemas recent blockbuster horror movie, "T2," starring Maricel Soriano, Derek Ramsey and child actress Mica de la Cruz. The chills and thrills which moviegoers experienced during the films regular showing in local theaters remains evident. The DVD and VCDs of "T2" is distributed by Star Home Video. *** The beautiful lady on the cover of the April issue of Metro Weddings is Valerie Barion, whose dad is French and mom a Filipina. She was born in Paris. But she frequently visits the country. In time, her beautiful face was seen in commercials and on the covers of local magazines. It was at a pictorial for a spa some three years ago that her path crossed with that of Onemig Bondoc, whom she didnt know was an actor. They became a twosome, henceforth. And one day, they decided it was high time that they have a baby, even if they were not married yet. Their baby, whom they named Arnelle, which, in French means "princess of theirs" is now two years old. The two are now planning their wedding. And Valerie, who plans to prepare for The Wedding herself, with, of course, the permission of Onemig, will base The Wedding preparation on an issue of Metro Weddings, which can very well be described as "the ultimate wedding workbook."
