April Boy Regino, malungkot na iiwan ang Pilipinas

AS an entertainer and recording artist, April Boy Regino has been consistently busy. He had even made movies on the side and he still maintains his hosting chores at Channel 13s Chow Time Na.

He has been a consistent moneymaker as a recording artist, after making 12 music albums through a decade of a booming career and a regular show celebrity here and abroad.

In fact, for the 2004 elections, he even planned to be a candidate in Marikina City until friends and relatives dissuaded to prevent disappointment and heartbreak.

Now all of a sudden, we got word that "April Boy cannot take it anymore so he wants out. He and his family have been working on their papers to leave the Philippines and to migrate to the US."

I even got word that April Boy and his family are set to leave the country early next month. Is this true?

First this news from a most reliable source: "Last year pa nagsumite si ABR sa US Embassy ng mga dokumento para malayang maninirahan sa US. Aprub na ang mga application.

"Kamakailan lang natanggap ni ABR ang approval ng kanyang petition bilang extra ordinary immigrant."

True, ABR and family are leaving the country for the US on October 7.

As an insider informs us: "Aalis na ng bansa si April Boy, pati ang kanyang pamilya ang asawang si Madelyn at ang dalawang anak na sina John Christian at Charmaine. Kapwa sila meron nang immigrant visa."

At this point, April Boy isnt talking yet. But someone close to him tells us, "malungkot na iiwanan niya ang kanyang career, mga kaibigan, katrabaho, kamag-anak at higit sa lahat ang mga tagahanga na tumangkilik sa kanyang mga awitin at mga plaka nang mahigit na isang dekada."

I also gathered information from entertainment editor Joe Cesar who is a family friend that ABR and family will be moving to the Golden Gate city, San Francisco.

It is in San Francisco where Madelyn has many relatives and they feel theyll start from there.

Upon arrival in the US on October 7, April Boy prepares himself for a series of shows in the US Oct. 11 in Waipaho, Hawaii at Farrington; Oct. 12, Honolulu at Philippine Community Center; Oct. 16 in Maui, Hawaii; Oct. 21, Los Angeles; Nov. 12 in Fieldhouse, Guam; and Nov. 19 in Florida.

Anyway, ABR plans to come home in late November to promote his 13th album to be released that time. After all, he is still a talent of Dondon Monteverde.
