| Ara: Hindi kita malilimutan, MannyAuthor: People's Journal PRESS people who attended the presscon for Manny Pacquiao's MMFF entry, "Anak ng Kumander" at Bar One in Holiday Crowne Plaza Hotel last Wednesday were surprise to hear a very encouraging, if not alarming, words from the Pambansang Kamao's leading lady in the movie, Ara Mina. Ara, fresh from a series of shows in Guam with TV host Willie Revillame, said she's thankful she has survived all the intrigues generated by this movie. "Nabugbog nang husto ang pagkatao ko sa mga tsismis dahil sa pelikulang ito," she said. "But now, they are over. At naka-recover na ako. All I can say is, hindi kita malilimutan, Manny. Kung nabubuhay si Tito Ron (FPJ), ipagtatanggol niya ako. Salamat sa pagtatanggol mo sa akin. " She looks up to Manny as an inspiration to many people. His story is something that a movie can't simply illustrate. And Ara says that despite his success, he has remained as humble as he can. Some people, including herself, can fault him for being less spoken, but his actions are louder than words. He could be generous to a fault, which some people really take advantage of, but Manny would be better illustrated as someone who could be your everyday hero. "Kaya nga, natatawa ako nung may mga nabasa ako na nag-take advantage daw si Manny kay Valerie (Concepcion), eh sa stature ni Manny, sino ba masasabing nag-take advantage?" defends director Jose 'Kaka' Balagtas. But while Valerie's manager continues to quack about the issue, Ara could only laugh about their kissing scene in the movie which took them nine takes to perfect. "Si Manny kasi, hindi talaga sanay sa cinematic kissing," Ara recalls with a laugh. "Kaya kailangan talaga, alalayan siya. Kaya ayun, inabot kami ng take nine. " Ara could only wish that "Anak ng Kumander" makes good at the tills. It is an action movie through and through. "From start to finish, talagang aksiyon," describes Ara. "Ngayon kasi, talagang kakaunti na ang gumagawa ng aksiyon kaya very timely ang pelikulang ito. " Aside from the fact that through this movie, Manny as its producer (through his MP Productions) has helped hundreds of displaced movie stuntmen, viewers will have a better choice from inane fantasy movies, or cumbersome dramas, with this gritty story about a rebel with a cause.
