Are Victor Basa and Valeen Montenegro snubbing each other? Author: Napoleon Quintos At the Star Magic press conference last June 15, former couple Victor Basa and Valeen Montenegro were reported to have snubbed each other. The two Star Magic talents were reportedly not on good terms because of their breakup in mid-2008. But during the thanksgiving dinner of May Bukas Pa, Victor told ABS-CBN.com that he and Valeen did not snub each other. " Hindi po. Nakita ko kasing ine-interview siya e ayoko naman mag-interrupt. Pero nag-hi naman kami sa isa't isa." But as much as he wanted to keep open communications after the breakup, Victor said that work had kept him and Valeen from seeing each other or even talking on the phone. "Recently hindi kami masyadong nakakapag-usap. Lately I've been focusing on my work and maganda naman ang nagiging takbo ng career ko. I wish the same thing for her." Victor is a mainstay of the top-rating primetime teleserye May Bukas Pa while Valeen was last seen as the mean girl in Your Song presents Underage. But what came as a surprise was Victor's answer when asked on whether he and Valeen had a difficult breakup. "We weren't officially together naman daw e, so...," the young actor explained. ABS-CBN.com then clarified with him on why he used the term "daw," and Victor answered, "Well, in every story laging may two sides, 'di ba? Basta I'm just happy that I was able to see her and makamusta siya." Another rumor going around is that Valeen has been mentioning in her interviews that her relationship Victor wasn't that serious, and this offended the young actor. But Victor said that he has yet to read a story or hear his ex-girlfriend make the statement directly. He did admit though that it would really hurt him if Valeen, or any of his past girlfriends, would deny having a relationship with him. " Masakit talaga 'yung ide-deny ka. Pero sa akin as a guy, nasa girl naman 'yung kung gusto niyang i-confirm or i-deny for whatever reason. Magpapaka-gentleman na lang ako, ha ha ha! Victor is currently being linked to Saab Magalona, daughter of the late Francis Magalona. But he said that he and Saab are just good friends at the moment, given Saab's situation. "We're friends. I can only hope to have a relationship with her pero sa ngayon she's not yet ready to be in a serious commitment. She's in school and kamamatay lang ng dad niya. Sa ngayon kaibigan lang ako sa kanya." The 24-year-old Coverboy, however, did not quickly dismiss the possibility of courting Saab who he described as a refreshing, lovely, and nice girl. " Hindi po ako nanliligaw. Siguro in the future, suntok sa buwan, baka sakali. But for now friend muna ako sa kanya. I want her to know that I'm just here for her if she needs to talk."
