Aubrey is preggy

RITA Avila will be doing a new afternoon soap for GMA 7. Titled "Magdusa Ka," it's the TV version of the movie which starred the late Nida Blanca, Eddie Garcia, and Dina Bonnevie.

Rita will play Nida's role. She considers it truly an honor. She said that she heard a number of actresses vied for the part.

"But I promised GMA-7 that I will live up to their expectations," she assured.

In the movie, "When Love Begins," a co-production between Star Cinema and Viva Films, Aga Muhlach reunites with Christopher de Leon, Boots Anson Roa and Ronaldo Valdez, who played his father in a number of films, and was his father-in-law in "May Minamahal."

Christopher played Aga's elder brother in "Nag-i-isang Bituin." They were foes in "Sa Aking Mga Kamay."

In "When Love Begins," Boots and Ronaldo are Aga's parents.

"Si Boyet (pet name of Christopher) naman ang daddy sa pelikula ni Anne (Curtis, with whom Aga is teamed up in a movie for the first time)," said Aga.

In supporting roles are Rafael Rosell, Dimples Romana, Mandy Ochoa, Desiree del Valle, Angel Jacob, AJ Dee and "Pinoy Dream Academy" (PDA) graduates Dione Monsanto and Mickey Perz.

Jon Avila, a most-recent "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition">Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition 2" housemate, is also featured.

Do you know that "When Love Begins" is the seventh film of Aga and director Joey Javier Reyes?

Director Joey and Aga worked together in "Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal," with Lea Salonga; "Nag-i-isang Bituin" with Christopher de Leon and Vilma Santos; "Hindi Kita Malilimutan" with Carmina Villaroel and Maricel Laxa; "May Minamahal" with Aiko Melendez; "Bayarang Puso" with Lorna Tolentino; and "Kung Ako Na Lang Sana" with Sharon Cuneta).

Remember Lou Salvador Jr. who in his time was known as the "James Dean of the Philippines"?

Lou Jr. reportedly died of a lingering illness in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he had resided after quitting showbiz.

Lou Jr. was teamed up with Marita Zobel, who still appears in mother roles on TV and the movies, in his salad days as an LVN Pictures contract star.

Lou Jr., like his half-brothers, Phillip and Ramon Salvador, was the son of the late "Mr. Showman," Lou Salvador Sr. He had two other siblings, Chona Sandoval, known in her time as the "Audrey Hepburn of the Philippines," and Rosauro "Ross" Rival (real name: Rosauro Salvador), who died last year.

Ross is the father of Maja Salvador.

Mina del Rosario, Phillip and Ramon's sister, is Lou's half sister. Mina died a few years back.

Lou was formerly married to Jenny, the younger sister of the late Fernando Poe Jr. A daughter of theirs, Penny, married Susan Roces' only brother, Jose Mari.

Jose Mari and Penny are now estranged. Two of their sons live with Susan.

Now it can be told that former bold star Aubrey Miles is pregnant. She's five months on the family way. Father is actor-turned-director Troy Montero.

Aubrey said she and Troy have no immediate plans to marry. Their current concern is the baby.

Both Aubrey and Troy want a girl for their first-born.

Aubrey was last seen in the TV series, "Rounin."
