| BEA ALONZO Star Magic jewel turns 19Author: Isah V. Red It seems like only yesterday, a young sweet sixteener graced the small screen and captivated audiences with her youthful innocence. Now, Bea Alonzo, Star Magics jewel, is 19 years old, and she has grown quite a fine young woman and admirable actor. Last Oct. 17, Bea celebrated her last tween year. She moves to the adult world next year. Since her launching in 2001, not a few admitted to being smitten by the teenagers beauty, more so by her convincingly playing roles in movies and drama series on television. How can anyone forget Katrina Argos in Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay, the series that cemented her team up with then up-and-coming heartthrob John Lloyd Cruz. Their tandem sizzled and led to many other projects, including It Might Be You and Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin on TV and in the movies like My First Romance, Now that I Have You, Close To You, and All about Love. John Lloyd and Bea have become so hot as a loveteam their legion of followers seems to be growing bigger. In 2004, John and Bea were honored with the Most Popular Love Team of RP Movies by the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Foundation, apart from the Princess of RP Movies trophy she got for the movie Now That I Have You. In the same year, the Philippine Movie Press Club voted her as Best New Movie Actress (for her role in My First Romance). The Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences gave her the Miss Famas Screen Idol award that year. Bea is now ready for more mature roles that will allow her to bring to light her versatility as an actor as her team up with John Lloyd grows stronger than ever. Proof is the solid ratings Maging Sino Ka Man is scoring nightly despite being pitted against the special effects heavy fantasy series Atlantika on the other network. No grand celebration for her 19th birthday. Bea simply begged off from offers, and asked permission from Star Magic to free her up on that day. Well, she received a surprise birthday treat when she won P900,000 in Kapamilya: Deal or Deal Deal. Robin-Regine flick clicked Executives of both GMA Films and Viva Films are very pleased with the performance at the box office of Till I Met You, the first co-production venture of the two movie outfits. Last Oct. 11, the Robin Padilla-Regine Velasquez romantic comedy raked in a whopping P6.4 million during their opening day. Showing in 150 theaters nationwide, the producers are more than satisfied that the gross sales exceeded their expectations during its first day of showing. The Cinema Evaluation Board, the government agency that grades movies for possible tax rebates, gave it a B while the government censorship agency, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board gave it a GP (General Patronage), thus giving the movie a wider latitude at the box office. Both movie outfits expect the film gross over a P100 million in its entire run. A decade + 1 of Bubble Gang Tonight, Bubble Gang officially becomes the longest-running gag show on Philippine television as it celebrates 11 uninterrupted years on the air. The guests will all participate in sketches especially created for the anniversary presentation. Meanwhile, Dennis Trillo and Angel Locsin will be featured in a special presentation of Bitoys regular segment, Kim Sam Soon, wherein Bitoy, who plays Kim, transforms into a superhero and fights with Sabina (portrayed by Angel) over the affection of her textmate, played by Dennis. Now, you have one reason not to go on a Friday night out gimikan with your barkadas. Better yet, gather around a 36-inch LCD TV for an hour of fun and laughter. Feedback Were receiving more mails and texts these days. But we dont have much space to print everyone of them. We will as we go along. Heres a few from our loyal readers. From someone who thinks Im a lady. Dear Ms. Isah Red, I am one of the many fans of Mr. Dennis Trillo who felt bad when he was pulled out of the Mano Po 5... We are not angry because a project didnt push thru for him but more of the manner it was done... our idol Dennis is a very good actor as well as a very responsible and professional person at that... being pulled out at the last minute doesnt seem to be professional enough. Okay lang sana kung kinausap siya a week before the story conference... napaka unprofessional naman ng ginawa sa kanya... and with somebody saying just to create a controversy for the expense of someone... masakit ata yun! Another thing, there have been some entertainment writers saying that Dennis doesnt have the support of his fans... well that is not true! Why dont this (sic) people open their eyes and ears more... Dennis has millions of fans not only in the Philippines but as well in various parts of the world like the United States, Middle East, and Asia... check out the Internet... you will find fans video recording his shows in You Tube.. .you will also find various fan forums for him too like pinoy exchange.com, igma7 forum.... fans have also made (a) Web site for Dennis... check out how Mr. Tony, a Thai, labors to make Dennis Trillos Web site at multply.com complete with all of his idols pictures, videos and write-ups... Many of us watched Majika only because of Dennis Trillo! Now without him on primetime we have been glued to our computers browsing for pictures, write-ups and videos about him or chatting with fellow fans around the world... Have they forgotten that Mr. Dennis Trillo tops most television and magazine surveys... QTVs Pinaka Survey, Hi Magazine and Yes Magazine... He is tagged as Crush ng Bayan, Handsomest Male Star, Most Exciting Male Star and currently a very credible product endorser of various consumer goods like Generoso Brandy, Panoxyl, Smart Buddy... plus the fact that he has won several major acting awards already in the past... We just hope that this would enlighten many people.... We do care for Dennis Trillo... and we will support him all the way... Thank you Justine Velasquez Hey, Justine. If you really love Dennis, youd ask all your friends who are also fans of Dennis to go out there and watch Txt in theaters, if only to prove that he is really hot. Cmon, mere words are not enough to convince Lily Monteverde that this guy is a big star now. oOo Heres a txt from +639106655285, someone obviously not a fan of Lovi Poe: I agree di bagay na Crystal si Lovi. Very pretty parang angel yung batang Crystal. Very charming. Si Lovi, sorry to say, maitim na, hindi (pa) sya telegenic. Walang charm. Thats your opinion, but Wilma Galvante, senior vice president of GMA-7 thinks otherwise. And Bakekang is rating higher than its counterpart on (ABS-CBN.) Source: Manila Standard Today |
