Baguhang aktor, pinatalsik ng guwapong leading man

SELOSO nga ba ang guwapong leading man?

Well, siya daw ang dahilan kung bakit napatalsik ang isang baguhang actor who have played leading man to his actress-girlfriend in a new series she is currently doing.

Mabuti na lamang daw at plano pa lamang ang pagpaparehang dapat sana ay magaganap sa actress at bagitong leading man. Otherwise, tiyak daw na magre-react ang sobra pa namang influential na talent manager ng baguhang actor.

Did you know, Ian F. that when the father and son team of directors Edgar "Bobot" and Franco Mortiz were conceptualizing the now hit show Banana Split, they were hoping to duplicate the 80s hit show, Goin' Bananas?

But this time, with an all-female cast. Kaya, if you recall, in its first season, Banana Split had in the cast Angelica Panganiban, Cristine Reyes, RR Enriquez, Princess Ryan, Valerie Concepcion and Diana Medina.

The 80s Goin' Bananas, well, had Edgar, Christopher de Leon and the late Jay Ilagan. Direction was by Peque Gallaga.

But as we all know, the original Banana Split didn't click well with the public. So a reformat was done. At the expense of some of the original female members of the cast of the first Banana Split.

The stars retained included Angelica, Cristine (who later voluntarily resigned), RR Enriquez and Princess.

Since another supposed comedy show, PareKoy, starring John Prats, Zanjoe Marudo at Jayson Gainza, had to be cancelled, hayun at naisipang pagsamahin na lang ang dalawang grupo.

Not just a complete reformat but a complete overhaul of Banana Split was done. And, voila, the new segments added to the program not only clicked but proved a complete delight to the audience.

And the most successful segments, viewers will have to all agree, is the parody, NNNN to Kris Aquino and Boy Abunda's talk program, aired nightly weekdays sa ABS CBN, SNN (Showbiz News Ngayon).

Impersonating effectively Kris and boy are Angelika and Jayson, respectively.

"I welcome the change in me," ani Angelica. "Ako rin ay nasorpresa sa sarili ko when I started impersonating Ate Kris. Aba, may funny side of me pala.

"No, I can very well say that I can be at home with comedy.

"At ang nakatutuwa, Ate Kris approves of my impersonation of her. And she admitted this on the air, no less.

"Willing pa nga siya ipahiram ako ng damit. Pero, sabi ko, 'wag na parang abuso na yon. "

Feeling naman ni Jayson, hanggang ngayon ay hindi pa approve si Boy sa panggagaya niya dito. Kaya daw tuloy, he is sometimes on pin and needle, kapag ini-impersonate niya popular tv host.

Ani Jayson, matutuwa raw siya kapag mismong si Boy ang umaming nakikita niya mismo kay Jayson ang sarili niya.

ABS-CBN Production Manager Cynthia Jordan said na happy siya of the positive feedback they are getting for the new Banana Split.

"Actually," Cynthia stated, "It's not just Angelica-Jayson NNNN segment ang nagki-click among the viewers. Riot din kapag ini-impersonate na nina Pokwang at Pooh (who has been added to the cast, too) sina Mommy Dionisia at Manny Pacquiao. "

Although we agree to Cynthia's observation that Pokwang can effectively impersonate din Annabelle Rama, it cannot be said of RR kapag ini-impersonate na niya si Ruffa.

Hindi namin minamata si RR. Pero alam mo kapag nagsasalita na siya ng English na she doesn't have a good command of it.

Kaya, dapat lang umangal si Ruffa na siya ang nag-i-impersonate sa kanya.

Mother Lily may finally decide to have Carla Abellana play the much-coveted role bilang anak ni Sharon Cuneta sa Metro Manila Filmfest entry of her film firm, Regal Entertainment, Mano Po 6, My Mother.

The role, if you recall, was originally offered kay Angel Locsin who could not do it dahil may gagawin siyang movie with Aga Muhlach for Star Cinema.

Mother Lily's second choice, Kim Chiu, could not do it either dahil may film na siya for the MMFF this year, ang I Love You... Goodbye, starring Gabby Concepcion, Derek Ramsey and Angelica Panganiban.

Carla is under contract to Regal Entertainment for 12 pictures.
