| | Belo, Boy Abunda meet again after dispute Author: ABS-CBNNews.com Column: Entertainment MANILA - Almost five months after their misunderstanding, "The Buzz" host Boy Abunda and controversial cosmetic surgeon Vicki Belo have faced each other again. Abunda interviewed Belo regarding the sex video scandal in a hotel for the weekly entertainment show. His exclusive interview with Belo was aired on Sunday. He explained that his interview was an "assignment" and it was his job to do it. The TV host clarified that he remains an endorser of Calayan Surgicenter, a competitor of Belo Medical Group. "Prior to this, I have received text messages from Vicki... parati ko namang sinasabi we had more good years than not so good... Katulad ni Vicki, hindi rin ako nagkakarga ng sama ng loob. We should all move on," he said. He also thanked Belo for the time and Dr. Manny Calayan, owner of Calayan Surgicenter, "for allowing me to do that interview with Vicki." The TV host and talent manager maintained that Belo remains his friend. In February, Abunda got offended by a remark made by Belo during one of her TV guestings. Belo reportedly said in that controversial TV appearance: "All I'd like to say is, if you want to look like Boy Abunda , go to Calayan, But if you want to look like Dingdong Dantes and Piolo Pascual, come to Belo." Dantes and Pascual are among the country's hunk actors. The host defended himself by saying that good looks alone would not make anyone happy. Belo, who was also criticized by the public, had already apologized to Abunda for insulting him. Regrets Meanwhile, during Abunda's interview, Belo admitted that one of her biggest mistakes ever since the sex video scandal broke out was that her two children and 82-year-old mother also got affected by the controversy. On her two children, Crystalle and director Quark Henares, the cosmetic surgeon said she was proud of them. "I really love you. I'm so proud of the kind of human beings you have become. Thank you so much for supporting, loving me and defending me," she said. She added that the two are "doing such a great job defending their mother." "'[Kahit na] nakakahiya, I know mothers are supposed to defend their children," she said. As for her mother, Belo said: "I hope I'm not a disappointment to you... sana naman you're still proud of me mommy and daddy wherever you are." She disclosed that her mother worries about her all the time and "that's not good." "I know I'm a good doctor, a good daughter. I just don't know why I get myself into these controversies," she said. She vowed, however, to become a better person and learn from all her mistakes. Source: ABS-CBN News |
