Bitter breakup?

NOW, its confirmed that Luis Manzano and Angel Locsin have parted ways.

But no one between them, not even those close to them, wants to speak up about the reason the two broke up.

"Basta, lets give Luis, in particular, time," said June Rufino.

Somebody involved with the production of the five-week TV special of Batangas Governor Vilma Santos said she was surprised when at the last minute, Angel, who had earlier agreed to host the portion in the special which touched on Governor Vis being a wife and mother, called, through her talent manager, Becky Aguila, to suddenly back out.

It was good, our source said, that Ai Ai de las Alas agreed to take over.

Did we hear it right that Edu Manzano, who is currently with girlfriend, Pinky Webb, in Maldives, is complaining about the weather in the island?

The couple are expected to come home on August 23.

Maldives is a republic in the Indian Ocean, Southwest of Sri Lanka, consisting of about 1,200 islands.

Husband and wife Ryan Agoncillo and Judy Ann Santos were the ones who cut the ceremonial ribbon at the inauguration and launch of The Piandre Salon on Sgt. Esguerra Street, just right across the ABS-CBN main building entrance.

Established in 1981, Piandre (which is a combination of the names of the daughters of salon owner, Mrs. Linda Francisco, Pia and Andrea), now has 11 branches and, more or less, 300 employees.

Two of these branches, according to Mrs. Francisco, are cooperatives which the salon employees themselves manage and own. "I am just there to help them supervise the business. Otherwise, they are free to decide what to do with the salons."

Judy Ann is among the numerous celebrities who go to the salon. And she has been to several of its branches. But this one on Sgt. Esguerra amazed her. The main salon is so bright everyone gets a feeling of so much space.

Said Andrea F. Zulueta, creative director of Piandre: "The Piandre Sgt. Esguerra Salons (yes, salons) were inspired by an award-winning Belgian designer using amaze-layout, giving the client a square of space. Clients are also treated with privacy and solace.

"Many new services are offered, such as the installation of Vanishing Mirrors styling station. After all, not all wants to see their hair or body meticulously being worked on the mirror. Thus, the vanishing mirrors flip over to reveal hand painted pictures created by artist Aina Valencia. And, of course, the personalized Kerastase hair treatments."

A favorite customer is Malou Santos, managing director of Star Cinema. Korina Sanchez, who is always in a hurry, they say, is also a patron.

Piandre Salon caters to both men and women.

Wendy Valdez, former "Pinoy Big Brother" (PBB) housemate, was spotted recently with her fellow PBB contestant Bruce Quebral, who is now her boyfriend, at the concert of Lady Gaga at the Araneta.

Their romance, as the public who are avid viewers of PBB know, started inside Big Brothers house. "Pero, nag-blossom ito," said Wendy, who is starting to excel in character roles on TV, "when we came out of the Kuyas house."

Bruce, like Wendy, tried showbiz right after coming out of the PBB house. But when his application to become a flight attendant in an international airline was approved, he opted to quit showbiz.

"Para raw sa future namin," said Wendy. "Kaya, kung magkita kami, kapag umuuwi lang siya ng Pilipinas.

"And thank God, the distance has not proved a problem. If at all, nagkakatotoo yata sa amin yong kasabihang absence makes the heart grows fonder."

Derek Ramsey was quick to deny report that he and Angelica Panganiban have split.

The news came around almost at the same time when the split-up between Luis Manzano and Vilma Santos was starting to be talked about.

"In fact," Derek told a reporter friend, "Im right now helping fix her car."

Even at work, Derek and Angelica are together most of these days. They are paired in Star Cinemas Metro Manila Filmfest entry, co-starring them with Gabby Concepcion and Kim Chiu.
