| Boots Anson Roa on working with KC, having showbiz 'EQ'Column: Entertainment Young actress KC Concepcion is a hit not just with fans but among showbiz folk as well. Veteran actress Boots Anson Roa is, in fact, the latest to be smitten with Megastar Sharon Cuneta's daughter -- Boots has expressed her preference to work with KC on a project. According to Boots, she has worked with almost all stars in showbiz and, if given the choice to pick a new star to work with, she would pick KC. Boots added that for her, doing a movie with KC Concepcion "would be an event". The veteran actress said that what draws her to KC is that she seems to know her priorities in life, has a balanced personality and was raised well by her parents. Boots' desire to work with KC was also fuelled by her recent film project with KC's mom, Megastar Sharon Cuneta. Boots plays the role of mother-in-law to the character of Sharon in the Chito Roño-Star Cinema offering, "Caregiver". According to Boots, working in the movie with the Megastar was an enjoyable experience. Caregiver, too She said that teaching keeps her mind sharp and puts her in touch with the young generation. "I make it a point to teach at least one subject a semester para hindi natin makalimutan yung mga natutunan natin at para makapag-network sa mga bagets." Boots also said that plans to retire from teaching someday and go back to her old passion -- playing the piano. "Kasi six years akong nag-aral ng piano noon. Wala akong practice so medyo nangangalawang," she said. To keep herself healthy, Boots exercises regularly avoids junk food. Sweets, however, are her weakness. I exercise regularly at least three times a week naggi-gym ako at saka I read a lot. Yung pagtuturo it helps me with my mental health. Malaking tulong that you act kasi it's a good way to vent your emotion," she added. Boots, who lost her husband Pete Roa last August 9, 2007 to stomach cancer, said she now lives alone with her household staff. She's thankful that she has work and family to keep her busy and for emotional support. "If you don't transcend or rise above yung situation mo malungkot talaga ang mag-isa. I'm glad that I have my work, my work in the office, my work in the industry and my teaching in the academe and I have a very strong support system from my family," she said. Yung pakikisama, yung inter-relationship with other people in the industry. I think that's what will keep people in the industry. Boots, who is universally loved for her loving, caring and responsible character, never forgets to extend her appreciation to those who trust her as a person and as an actress. I awe it a lot to the industry kaya ginagawa ko lahat ng magagawa ko tulad sa Mowel Fund... at saka 'yung pagtulong sa taga-industriya. Yyung pagtuturo ko, it's a way of paying back the industry," she ended. Source: ABS-CBN News |
