Wacky stand up comic and TV star Chocoleit has found a "loveteam" in young comic, Empoy -- and their partnership will henceforth be known as "Chompoy."

Both October born, Chocoleit and Empoy are seen as perfect foil for each other. It was a group of movie reporters who brought forth the idea. And the two comics are enthusiastic.

"Why not?," Chocoleit immediately responded. "I really wanted to have somebody to exchange jokes with. I did that in comedy bars. But now on television and in the movies, it would be nice to have a partner," he added in Filipino.

Empoy, meanwhile, looks forward to "the many lessons I would learn from Chocoleit" whom he admits to being a fan of.

It is not unusual to have comic partners - someone who prepares the joke and gives the

punchline, the other to receive and react with another punchline.

In the Philippine scene, the more succesful ones include the war time Pugo and Togo, the Tawag ng Tanghalan hosts in the late 60s Patchy and Lopito, and the 80s Champoy duo, Subas Herrero and Noel Trinidad.

And, of course, the unforgettable Dolphy - Panchito tandem.

Chocoleit, more senior of the two and more experienced said he will tag Empoy along in his shows to train the young comic.

And Empoy is just too enthusiastic to join him.
