Closer than before

Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera admit that their latest project for the Kapuso network, Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang, is memorable mainly because it drew them closer to each other. One clear proof is the way they handled their numerous kissing scenes in the soap. It’s obvious that they are more relaxed, natural, and free-flowing now as compared to their first two hit starrers, Marimar and Dyesebel.

“So far, all the kissing scenes we’ve shot were take one. Perhaps, the fact that we are both unattached as of now helped a lot. At least, there are no barriers. We don’t worry that one party will react. Our acting becomes more natural which is favorable to our working relationship,” reveals Dingdong.

“That’s true! Especially that Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang is very different from our previous soaps. Here, we tackle more mature characters which require us to act without inhibitions. As Proserfina, I had to exude mystery, sensuality, street-smartness and deep angst altogether. I can say that this is my most challenging boob tube assignment to date,” Marian said.

“If in Marimar and Dyesebel, my characters were aggressive, here, it’s different. Marian is the aggressive one. There is build-up in my character. At first, he leads an organized and boring life until one girl will turn it topsy-turvy. From there, he will change as he sees life’s harsh realities as he gets entangled with her. It’s truly an exciting part,” says the heartthrob.

“I have a scene where I’ll wear a two-piece swimsuit. I think Dingdong has a shower scene where his abs and broad shoulders are exposed. As the story progresses, I’m sure there will be more so we hope you’ll watch out for it. Of course, these are vital to the scenes to further establish our characters,” informs the sultry actress.

With regard to the present status of their relationship, the hot tandem divulges that they’re still not an item.

“I admit that we go out on dates now, like dinner or watching movies but that’s just it. Maybe, we’re waiting for the right time and feeling. For me, it’s better not to plan when it comes to matters of the heart. It’ll just come,” insists Dingdong.

Does he miss Marian if she’s not beside him?

“Yes I do! When we don’t see each other, I call her up!”

For Marian, she just wants to take things one step at a time.

“At present, Dong and I are very comfortable with each other. Personally, I want to enjoy this state first, especially now that the negative rumors about us are already subsiding. Let’s see what happens in the coming days!” the controversial star ends with a smile.

Even closer than before, too

Rhian Ramos and JC de Vera are not yet sweethearts, contrary to speculations that at present, they are playing beautiful music together. But the former admits JC inspires her on the set of their top-rating show LaLola over at GMA-7.

“It’s not true that we are on although I must say this is the first time in my life that I cared so much for a guy. It’s a strange feeling but definitely, it hasn’t reached the point that we became a couple. It’s really my first time to have this kind of feeling and I don’t know how to call it. All I know is that I’m happy whenever I’m with him.

“In fact, I always look forward to reporting to the set, especially if his call time is earlier. That means he’s already there before I arrive. I always feel excited and inspired to do my scenes, especially those where our characters are interacting,” reveals Rhian.

JC also does something for her which he doesn’t usually do to other girls.

“When we want to go out, he’s the one who asks permission from my mom. Not all guys are gutsy to be able to do that. And I appreciate that gesture a lot. That’s one of my conditions, actually. That whenever we’ll go out on a date if ever, my mom ought to know. So far, I can say that JC is okay with my mother. Everything’s smooth-sailing.”

Interestingly, apart from his good looks, what Rhian likes best about JC is that…

“He carefully plans for the future. He has vision. He’s so dedicated to fulfill all his goals and ambitions. He knows his priorities.”

Does she think she’s part of his future plans?

“Well, I don’t know. But I hope so. I think there’s nothing wrong if I hope that after LaLola, our closeness will still continue. Actually, the realization that our show will end soon makes me feel sad but it’s just like that, right?”

In a previous interview, JC stated that something keeps them from taking their friendship to the next level.

“Perhaps, he was referring to our work. As you all know, our schedules can get crazy at times. But one commonality we share is that we’re both focused in improving our craft. At this point in time, our career is important. We don’t want all our efforts to be put to waste. Let’s see what happens in the coming days,” ends Rhian.

Take them to the church on time

So it’s confirmed! Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo are exchanging marital vows this year. The latter recently admitted this although he didn’t disclose any specific date.

“It’s already near and we’re both very excited,” he says.

With this surprising development, many are wondering how grand the wedding will be considering their status in the ‘biz.

“Sorry to disappoint them but it’ll just be a very simple ceremony. It’s going to be a combination of both church and civil wedding. Yes, it will be here in the Philippines and Sharon Cuneta already agreed to be our matron of honor while my brother Dondi will be the best man. We also have two pairs of godparents who are non-showbiz.”

This early, Ryan is already apologizing to the press because he and Juday don’t intend to have their wedding covered.

“We will not invite any TV crew and photographer to the special event. It’s not that we’ll hide it from the public. We just don’t want to be harassed on our wedding day with all the cameras flashing. We want a relaxed atmosphere not only for the two of us but for our guests as well. We’ll politely turn down any offer to cover our wedding.”

Interestingly, the couple will not go on a honeymoon after the wedding.

“It’s because we don’t want to lessen our budget for the love nest we are buying somewhere in the south. It’s a cozy four-bedroom abode with a den. Its size is modest and is apt for a starting couple like us,” Ryan points out.
