IT will be a tougher journey, wika nga, for the new set of scholars na mapapasali sa second season ng Pinoy Dream Academy.

For one, they'll really be treated like scholars, kaya, malaki ang expectations sa kanila ng kanilang mga mentor, na talagang maituturing na mentors in the true sense of the word.

This set of mentors include Joey Reyes, well-known movie and tv director-cum-scriptwriter; Kitchie Molina, UP College of Music Voice and Music Theater chairman; and Monet Silvestre, musician extraordinaire.

Headmaster is Ryan Cayabyab, whose name is one to reckon with in the entertainment industry.

All of them have the tag trusted counselor or teacher to their names. And they have all been members of the best schools.

Si Direk Joey, for instance, ay naging professor sa De La Salle University.

Two of those who proudly claim to have been Direk Joey's students sa La Salle are brothers Randy (now a tv director, too, besides being a singer) and Rowell Santiago, himself a concert director.

Mentors Kitchie and Monet have been students ni Mr. C (pet name ni Ryan among showbiz folks).

Did you know that Billy Crawford, now one of the hosts ng PDA, took up lessons in singing with Mr. C when he was three years old?

Direk Joey is assigned as Performance Master; Ma'am Kitchie, Voice Master; and Sir Monet, Voice Mentor.

Billy's two co-hosts are Toni Gonzaga and Nikki Gil.

There are 32 aspiring PDA Dreamers introduced to televiewers during the past nine Saturdays on ABS-CBN.

Although ayon kay Master Ryan, 30 of the 32 are possible Dreamers, only 15 of them will enter the Academy as scholars.

They will be properly presented to the public at the PDA concert hall on June 14, Saturday.

Compared to the first PDA, business unit head Direk Lauren Dyogi said they will be stricter with the Dreamers who'll make up the list of finalists.

For example, they will make sure na talagang singers lang ang makukuhang scholars unlike sa first PDA where there were a number among the scholars na nagku-compose ng sariling awitin.

By the way, the final casting of the PDA Season 2, pinamagatang The Dream Begins, ay mapapanood June 9 to 13.

Kahit kailan daw, hindi siya nito sinaktan, physically man or emotionally.

If at all pa nga raw, siya ang nanakit kay Ira.

Ilan sa celebrities na na-link kay Mylene ay sina Domini Primero (now the husband of Joanne Quintas), Bernard Palanca, ex-husband ni Meryll Soriano, at Paolo Paraiso, father of her two-year-old son, Tomas Miguel.
