DZMM tops Nielsen AM radio survey

ABS-CBN's radio station dzMM has topped the Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) survey conducted by Nielsen Media Research in Mega Manila for the first quarter of 2009.

GMA Network's radio station dzBB ranked number two among the AM stations, showing a significant leap from its number three ranking during the fourth quarter of 2008.

Among the Top 5 AM stations, DZBB has registered the highest increase in rating points for most of the week - an increase of 0.17 points from Monday to Sunday, 0.16 points from Monday to Saturday, 0.19 points from Monday to Friday.

A press statement said "dzMM and DZRH experienced significant drops of 0.17 and 0.12 points in all-day ratings respectively, DZBB enjoyed a gain of 0.14 points in the most recent survey."

Despite the drop, dzMM still managed to remain on top.

DZMM programs include Tambalang Failon At Sanchez, Todo Todo, Walang Preno, Balita Ngayon, Gising Pilipinas, Todo Balita, Radyo Patrol Balita, TV Patrol World">TV Patrol World sa dzMM, Bandila sa dzMM, Dos Por Dos, Pasada Sais Trenta, among others.

It is also simulcast via The Filipino Channel and also has a television channel on SkyCable named DZMM TeleRadyo where the studio and hosts of its programs can be seen by its listeners and viewers.

DZBB meanwhile holds a lineup of weekday programs that contributed significant rating points to the station, which include Dobol B, Balitang Balita, Saksi sa Dobol B, Umaga Na, Balita Na, Super Balita sa Umaga, and Imbestigador sa Dobol B. The Saturday topnotcher was Buena Manong Balita, and the Sunday leader was Sunday Gwapo. These programs were all news and public affairs in format.

DZBB's 95 percent of listening population is composed of the older age bracket, mostly coming from the D and E economic classes.
