 Daddy and Yummy

Author: Mario E. Bautista
Column: Dream Factory

Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes were back to back as they got grilled by the five hosts of "Showbiz Central" in the "Intriga Crossfire" portion.

To Dingdong: Was there ever a time you had to say sorry to Marian?

"Yes. Just recently, in a difficult emotional scene, hindi ko nagawa ng tama so nag-sorry ako sa kanya."

To Marian: Pinagpantasyahan mo rin ba si Dingdong?

"Oo naman."

Anong pinagpantasyahan mo sa kanya?

"Ang buong pagkatao niya."

To Dingdong: Sa dressing room, is it true you were heard calling Marian as Yummy and she called you Daddy?

"We always play around each other’s names. ‘Yung Yummy, galing sa Ian in Marian. Instead of Yanny, naging yummy. Ang daddy naman, galing sa name kong may two letter D’s."

How come their director in "Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang," Joyce Bernal, told them when interviewed: Umamin na kayo?

He’ll tell me, mag-church na lang tayo, mag-pray tayo. Dahil dun, lalo akong tumapang."

She gave an Omega James Bond watch to Dingdong for Christmas. What did she get in return? Marian shows the beautiful diamond bracelet she’s wearing. "Ito’ng ibinigay niya sa’kin. When he gave it to me, may sinasabi sa akin na ikinaiyak ko. Pero hindi ko na sasabihin dito kung ano ‘yun."

Well, we guess we’ll just have to draw our own conclusions.

Isabel Oli guested in the "Gimme Mo" portion of "Showbiz Central" last Sunday and gamely answered all of DJ Mo’s questions.

What is the best lesson she learned since she joined showbiz?

"I learned to master my emotions," she says. "It’s best to be still, quiet ka na lang and pray."

She’s obviously referring to her breakup with Paolo Contis. Is it the biggest heartbreak she experienced?

"Yes. I’m confused, medyo galit, but konti na lang, I’m okay now."

As a girlfriend, do you make it a point to be close to the family of your boyfriend?

"Gusto ko maging close sa kanila, pero hindi ko pinipilit."

Paolo’s parents say they really like her.

"I want to thank his parents for being so nice to me. We still text each other up to now."

What can she say about Paolo’s statement regarding his folks: "Kung ang anak nila, naka-move on na, why can’t they?"

"Wala, sad lang."

Madali ka bang mapasaya sa mga expensive na regalo? (This is obviously in reference to the story that Paolo broke up with her since she’s a "bilmoko" girl. We feel that DJ Mo should have been more straightforward with his question.)

"No, I prefer simple things. Like when we eat out, I’d rather not go to a fancy restaurant. The important thing for me is that I’m with him.Galante nga si Paolo, pero ayoko nang ganun."

He gave you a ring. Did you really return it to him?

"Yes, I did."

Is it the same ring that Paolo gave to his girlfriend now (Lian Paz) that was shown here two weeks ago, recycled lang?

"I didn’t get to see it so I wouldn’t know if it’s the same ring."

Would you like to see it?

"Huwag na lang."

Are you ready for a new relationship after your breakup in November?

"No. Three months pa lang. I’ve moved on, but maypain pa rin so huwag muna para I won’t be unfair sa magiging new boyfriend ko."

But it’s said may manliligaw ka nang PBA player.

"He’s just my best friend since two years ago. We’re not on."

After what you went through, do you still believe in happily ever after?

"For me, happiness should not depend on other people or material things na nawawala naman. The source of my happiness is God, so I still believe in it, yes."

When was the last time you cried after the breakup?

"Two weeks ago."

Was that when you were informed about what happened when Paolo and Lian guested in the show? Isabel no longer replied but just smiled.

Rhian Ramos and JC de Vera took the lie detector test in the "Don’t Lie to Me" segment simultaneously. Here are the questions asked by host John Lapus to them:

JC, bantay sarado ka nga ba lagi kay Rhian?

Both of them said no and both of them were lying.

JC, pinapagalitan ka nga ba ni Rhian when you make a mistake in the scenes that you tape together?

Again, they both answered no and, this time, it’s true.

Rhian said yes and JC said no. Rhian is telling the truth but JC is lying.

They both said no and both of them were lying.

John danced several times because of their numerous lies.

Rhian said later: "Nag-no lang ako dahil gusto kitang pasayawin."

Both Rhian and JC hope that even if "La Lola" is already ending this week, they will again be paired in another show soon so they can continue seeing each other.

Singer Kyla denied in an interview at "Showbiz Central" that she’s pregnant. The story came out as a blind item in some columns but it’s easy to identify that it was referring to Kyla since she’s the only singer who has admitted she’s been going steady with cager Rich Alvarez. So what is her and Rich’s reaction to the rumor that she’s preggy?

"Wala. Tinawanan lang namin kasi we know hindi naman totoo. Sabi nga namin: paano mangyayari yun?"

Kyla has previously stated that she doesn’t believe in premarital sex. It’s said the one who circulated the rumor is a friend of hers.

"Sino kaya ‘yun? All I can say is that bago mangyari ‘yun, kailangang kasal muna, because I believe in the sanctity of marriage."
