Danica Sotto now ready to become a mommy

Danica Sotto revealed that she and husband Marc Pingris will expect their firstborn on July 4. Danica also revealed that Startalk would be there to witness the event.

"Mas na-appreciate ko ang mga magulang ko. Hindi lang yung mommy ko dahil siya yung nagbuntis for nine months, pati yung daddy ko. Nakita ko kasi na si Marc lalong nagwo-work hard siya. I'm sure nung pinagbubuntis din ako ng mommy ko, ganoon din siya [Vic Sotto]."

These were the words Danica Sotto-Pingris said while contemplating the experience her parents had when she was still inside her mother's womb. Now that she's about to become a first time mom to a baby boy, Danica can hardly contain her excitement from Startalk as she tells them what she's going through and what her and Marc's plans are. To start off, how many months exactly is the baby now?

"Nine months and one week," Danica proudly said. "So malapit na. Ang due date na binigay sa akin is July 4. So, puwedeng before or after. " Then she nervously joked, "Puwedeng ngayon na. Sana ngayon na!"

The Pingris couple is very much prepared for the momentous event that is about to happen on July. As Danica shared, "Marc and I took mga birthing class. 'Tapos ang dami naming in-attend. I was able to attend also mga baby care na class. Alam mo, thank you talaga sa mga nakaimbento ng baby shower. Wala akong binili kahit isa. Halos lahat kumpleto, pati diapers. May room na siya sa condo naming, so, kumpleto na pati crib niya. Lahat naka-set na. Hinihintay na lang namin siya!"

Danica and Marc have already decided on the name of the baby boy. Their chosen name was Jean-Michele, very French.

Danica related, "May idea na kami. Yung huling ultrasound niya. Actually, hindi ko makita yung face niya pero a lot of people are saying that the baby looks like Marc. Hindi ko alam."

Aside from the Pingris couple, the other people excited at Jean-Michele's special appearance were his grandfather and grandmother, Vic Sotto and Dina Bonnevie.

"Sabi ni Mommy, 'Pag nasa practice si Marc at manganganak ka, call me na kaagad para siya na lang muna mauna.' Sabi ko na parang takot siya sa mga ganung eksena [Marc]. Sabi nga niya na lumabas na daw at niloloko niya ako na Junjun na lang daw pangalan or Junior na lang."

How about the dad, is he overly excited at being a dad as well?

"Ayoko naman sabihin na napre-pressure pero medyo parang ganun yung dating," Danica revealed. "Even sa condo namin, naging OC [obsessive compulsive] siya bigla. 'O, dapat malinis ito kasi yung baby, ganito yung baby, etc.' So, kung gaano siya kaalaga before, parang mas nadagdagan. Even the way we spend, he says na don't buy things you don't need, etc."

Danica revealed that she plans on coming back to showbiz after giving birth. She shared, "Honestly, gusto ko pa talaga bumalik sa showbiz. Pero siguro, after I give birth, I want to breastfeed talaga. Maybe a few months habang I'm getting my pre-pregnancy weight back. Siyempre paganda na muna ng katawan!"
