Dennis belongsin Rufa Mae’s past

IT IS Rufa Mae Quinto’s deci-sion not to fall in love right now, although it has been more than six months since she and singer Erik Santos broke up. It is not that she’s wanting in suitors. The truth is that she has about 20 admirers, she revealed. "All of them, good prospects," she said proudly.

"But I’m enjoying my freedom," she added. "Once in a while,maganda rin ‘yung ang tanging obligasyon mo ay ang sarili lamang. Although, I admit na kakaibang happiness na may minamahal ka at nagmamahal din sa ‘yo."

She refused to comment on the rumor that, at one time, Carlene Aguilar confronted her about Dennis Trillo. But we asked her whether it’s true that it was Dennis who caused her break-up with her boyfriend of six years, Rudy Hatfield.

"Kung naging kami man ni Dennis, well, that is past," she declared. "Kaya, next question, please."

"Pasukob," Rufa Mae’s new comedy movie with Ai Ai de las Alas, is not their first movie together. Ai Ai appeared in Rufa Mae’s launching flick, "Booba," which was directed by Joyce Bernal.

"Pasukob" comes on the heels of Rufa Mae’s recently released comedy flick, "Apat Dapat, Dapat Apat," which she co-produced with Viva Films. The comedienne hopes "Pasukob" will be a box-office success as "Apat Dapat." Both movies have the same director – Wenn Deramas, who has directed several top grossing comedy films, including "Tanging Ina," "Ang Cute ng Ina Mo" and "The Lucky Ones."

Ai Ai recently inaugurated her second eatery, located near the Pinoy Big Brother house on ELJ Street, Quezon City. The original branch is on Maria Clara, corner Dapitan in Sampaloc.

"It’s a little more expensive, of course, to eat my lugawin Quezon City," said Ai Ai. "The one in Sampaloc is not aircon, while itong dito, may pagka high end.

"Pero, pareho ang lasa," she added. "Lasang Ai Ai, kung baga. And the price is very affordable."

If plans do not miscarry, she will open her third branch in Greenhills early next year.

Although she admits she has never been busy, Ai Ai makes it a point to visit her two eateries every other day. "May kanya kanyang manager ang stores pero gusto kong maging hands on sa bawat business na itinatayo ko."

Ai Ai co-owns Klownz comedy bar in Angeles City with Allan K.

Ai Ai seals the title as the only enduring "Comedy Concert Queen" with her highly-successful birthday concert at the Araneta Coliseum recently. She has never been more in demand for concerts abroad, too. But in the coming days, whether she likes it or not, she might just have to stay put in the country. Aside from "Princess Sarah," she is to start with two teleseryes on ABS-CBN, "Volta," and a still untitled one which will be shot in Japan and co-stars her with Maricel Soriano.

Is it true that Jennylyn Mercado almost considered tmoving to ABS-CBN, like Angel Locsin, Valerie Concepcion and child actress Ella Cruz? Jennylyn, Angel, Valerie and Ella are all wards of talent manager Becky Aguila.

It was reportedly Patrick Garcia, Jennylyn’s boyfriend, who advised her to stay put in GMA 7. But she didn’t elaborate on the suspicion.

Patrick started his career as a child star in ABS-CBN. He appeared in a number of movies under Star Cinema. He is also a former talent of Star Magic. He only started appearing in shows on GMA 7 when he became a talent of Arnold Vegafria, who is also the manager of Pops Fernandez, John Prats, among others.
