Dennis rejoices as Heart splits

Dennis Trillo recently signed another two-year contract with GMA-7. In the last six years, the handsome actor's career soared high with his participation in such hit shows like Mulawin, Majika, Darna, Super Twins, Zaido, Mahawi Man Ang Ulap, Magdusa Ka and Gagambino. He's thankful that despite the controversy he figured into last year about his involvement with Carlene Aguilar and Cristine Reyes and being a dad out of wedlock, the Kapuso network still took care of him.

"I admit that during those times, I became pessimistic. I thought it would cause my career to decline. But later on, I realized I had to be strong and be brave enough to face the consequences of my action. I'm grateful to GMA-7 for remaining at my side in spite of the flaks I got then," he avers.

Many say that if the controversy didn't come out, he'd be more popular than GMA-7's reigning prime time kings Richard Gutierrez and Dingdong Dantes.

"Actually, it's not my ambition to become a superstar because I know it's hard to sustain it. What's important is that people get to appreciate what I do. And one thing more, there's no competition among Richard, Dingdong and myself since we're all under one stable. "

His first big project after the contract signing is the remake of the classic drama Muling Buksan Ang Puso. A Sine Novela presentation, it will be fielded in the afternoon block.

"It's another good project after Gagambino. I'm back in the drama genre which I missed a lot. My last dramatic outing was in Magdusa Ka opposite Katrina Halili, another Sine Novela offering. I'm excited because the movie version was a blast. Imagine, you have acting greats Vilma Santos, Lorna Tolentino, Coney Reyes and the late Dindo Fernando in one screen? Wow!"

In the remake, Heart Evangelista and Nadine Samonte will be his leading ladies. This early, many are tickled pink because he is vocal in saying that he has a crush on the former.

"It's a perfect opportunity for me to rediscover KC. For those who don't know yet, we were already getting close before she went to Paris to study. It was a sudden decision. We lost contact then. But I admit we're going out. But now that she is full-blast with her showbiz career, I'll always be there for her,"he said.

Reports confirm that apart from Lovers in Paris, they are also scheduled to shoot their maiden project for Star Cinema.

"That's why we'll be seeing each other constantly. I'm looking forward to getting to know her better this time.

Piolo is also elated that KC's mom Sharon Cuneta approves of their screen team-up.

"For me, it's important to get her (Sharon's) approval first. I want to thank her for giving her approval to me as KC's next leading man. I promise to do everything in order not to disappoint her. "

What are KC's traits that he likes the most?

PAOLO'S DAUGHTER CHRISTENED
