WHEN Dingdong Dantes agreed to Universal Records’ offer for an audio-visual project, he wasn’t merely aiming, he said, to overhaul his image as a much-sought leading man and endorser. Rather, Dingdong explained that he is after the experience into an exciting concept, a first for any Pinoy celebrity.

Dingdong’s project is titled "The Dingdong Dantes Experience." It is a mini-Coffee Table Book/Scrapbook, with exclusive Dingdong Dantes images and a DVD featuring four Dingdong Dantes Music Videos, shot by leading music, video and commercial directors, exclusively for the project.

Louie Ignacio, Adrian Calumpang, Treb Monteros, Rico Gutierrez and Shoti Benares are the directors who worked closely with Dingdong in conceptualizing the look and feel of each music video.

Director Louie directed "Cucu (Oh Yeah)"; directors Rico and Shoti made "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)"; director Adrian was behind "Shining Star" and director Treb, the "Tender Love" music video.

Also included are behind-the-scenes photos, taken during the music video shoots.

Derek Ramsey gifted girlfriend Angelica Panganiban recently the car of her dream, a Mini Cooper.

The color of the car? Yellow, Angelica’s favorite color.

"Kaya alam kong pinaghirapan ni Derek ang makabili ng nabanggit na kotse, as it is no longer uso. Yellow is also a rare color for cars.

"That’s why I really appreciate his effort just to have me realize my wish," said Angelica beaming.

The couple are celebrating their third anniversary as sweethearts.

So what in return did she give Derek?

"He would have wanted an expensive brand of watch, but we are both Swatch endorsers, kaya I will ask him what other gift he wants," said Angelica.

Angelica’s movie, "I Love You… Goodbye," co-starring her with Gabby Concepcion, Derek Ramsey and Kim Chiu, has been chosen as Star Cinema’s entry in the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) this year.

"Kasi the film originally earmarked for the MMFF by Star Cinema ay ‘di yata matutuloy," she explained. "Ate Kris (Aquino), who would have starred in the movie, backed out from the project, as she told Star Cinema that she feared she might not be able to finish it, dahil nga may sakit ang mommy (former President Cory Aquino) niya. Very unstsabledaw ang kundisyon."

Doing the movie marks many firsts for Angelica. It may not be her first lead role, as she already played the title role of "Santa-Santita" with Jericho Rosales as her co-star, but it is definitely her first time to work with Gabby, Kim and including – would you believe? – Derek.

So, how it working with Derek?

"Nakakapanibago," she answered, "Kasi first time namin pareho to play the roles of sweethearts on the big screen. Laurice had to practically spoon feed us. Nakakatawa nga."

Angelica thinks she’s getting all the good breaks as far as her showbiz career is concerned. And for this, she wants Star Cinema, ABS-CBN, not to say, Star Magic, which manages her career, to know that she’s grateful.

After all, simultaneous with her launching movie with Star Cinema, she topbills the upcoming series "Rubi," where she has a bida-kontrabida role.

She has started taping for the series, but all she is allowed to say about it is that it is an adaptation of a foreign telenovela.

At the moment, she’s instructed to keep other details under wraps.

"Kaya di ko muna pwedeng i-divulge who my leading man and other co-stars are. Yes, until I’m given the go-signal.

"Kaya excited ako about the project.

"Nakaka-tense. Nakaka-challenge. But I certainly feel good I happen to play the most important role in ‘Rubi.’

"I promise to live up to all of my bosses’ expectations," Angelica further stated.
