Dingdong, tinalikuran si Piolo!

Jake Cuenca attended the Mass offered for the late Douglas Quijano sa Imperial Palace Suites nu'ng Sunday ng gabi.

It was the ninth day mula nang bawian ng buhay ang kilala at well-respected na talent manager (to Richard Gomez, John Estrada, Jomari and Anjo Yllana, among others).

Jake revealed that Douglas somehow had a hand sa kung anumang magandang nangyayari sa career niya ngayon.

Ang talent manager niyang si Neil de Guia ay very close to Douglas. They used to seek the latter's advise na may kinalaman sa kanyang career.

Jake had to leave pagkatapos ng Misa. He revealed that his parents are home from Spain and since he is the only one among his siblings na nasa Pilipinas, siya lang ang inaasahang mag-asikaso sa mga ito.

Earlier that day, Jake was with Maja Salvador and Shaina Magdayao to promote their upcoming movie, Villa Estrella, sa The Buzz.

He said it's his first movie, kaya umaasa siyang panonoorin ito ng mga tao.

"Talagang pinaghirapan namin ito, para mapaganda. .. para worth it ang ibabayad ng mga manonood sa takilya," susog pa ni Jake.

Also in the movie is Geoff Eigenmann.

Piolo Pascual had an offer to do a guest appearance in May Bukas Pa and Nasaan Ka, Maruja?

But he chose to do just one at ito'y ang Nasaan Ka, Maruja?

Sa maniwala kayo at hindi, malaki ang kinalaman ni Kristine Hermosa, who plays Maruja in the series, kung bakit mas ginusto ni Piolo na gawin ito.

Una, bale magsisilbing reunion nila bilang co-workers ang Nasaan Ka, Maruja? They first appeared together in the drama series (also on ABS-CBN), Sa Sandaling Kailangan Mo Ako.

Guess what Piolo's role was in that series?

"May pagkakontrabida ang role ko ru'n," pahayag ng aktor. "Ang kapareha ni Kristine noon ay si Marvin Agustin.

"Moreover, I heard from Star Cinema that Kristine and I might do a movie together. "

As far as Piolo is concerned, puwede raw ituring si Kristine bilang isa sa tatlong pinakamagandang babaing artista ng kanyang panahon.

First attempt ito ni Pioo to be part of a horror-suspense series. He has no idea yet as to how his character will evolve, although he already has been briefed about it.

Magiging dahilan daw siya kung bakit ang gumanda nang relasyon nina Cristy (Kristine) at Ross (Derek Ramsay) ay magkakaroon uli ng lamat.

Piolo's presence, however, is expected to create more excitement and curiosity sa viewers.

"Expect a new me sa role ko bilang Gabriel," aniya pa. "Kahit pananamit at look ko, mababago. "

Piolo has ventured into producing movies lately. They are not the indie kind, he specified, but mainstream.

He recalled that when he did Manila, both as a producer and star, he did so because nagustuhan niya ang project.

Currently, Manila director Adolf Alix Jr. is in Moscow for a possible screening of the movie in an upcoming filmfest there.

Now in the works, with Piolo as producer again, is Kimmydora, which has comedienne Eugene Domingo playing the title role.

Guess who is cast as Eugene's leading man?

"Dingdong Dantes," Piolo answered.

He explained: "He was supposed to be a co-producer. But he opted to star in the movie na lang. Na okay din naman. "

Directing Kimmydora is Joyce Bernal, common friend nila ni Dingdong.

Direk Joyce has directed Piolo in several movies sa Star Cinema.

She's handled Dingdong naman in three of his series sa GMA-7 opposite real-life sweetheart Marian Rivera: Marimar, Dyesebel at Ang Babaing Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang.

By the way, Piolo said his new series, Lovers in Paris, with KC Concepcion will start airing on ABS-CBN in August.
