Dingdong-Marian: Confirmed

TWO of the episodes in "Shake, Rattle and Roll 10," which we reacted to favorably when we watched its premiere last Saturday at SM Megamall had Mike Tuviera as director. And these are "Emergency" and "Nieves, The Engkanto Slayer."

"Shake 10" is really three separate stories, each one different. The second episode is "Class Picture" and had Christopher Lee at the helm.

The first episode, "Emergency," is really scary. It has Roxanne Guinoo and JC de Vera playing doctors. They were caught by surprise when a group of aswangs attacks the hospital where they work, killing everyone in sight.

The presence of mind of the hospital’s chaplain saved them all. He thought of using the hospital’s sprinklers to douse everyone with holy water.

Meanwhile, "Nieves" had Marian Rivera playing the title role. She was effective in her role as engkanto slayer. Her episode was a comedy-fantasy-horror and she proved that is at home with any genre.

"Class Picture" starred Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson and Jean Garcia. It’s the first horror project of Kim and Gerald. They both learned a lot from Jean, they say.

Jean’s launching film, "Impaktita," also with Regal Entertainment, producer of "Shake, Rattle and Roll 10," was also a horror movie.

"We always enjoy doing an ‘SSR’ movie," said Roselle Monteverde-Teo, the younger of Mother Lily Monterverde’s two daughters (the older one is Meme) who now heads Regal Entertainment. "But I must say that this most recent episode, its 10th, tops all of them.

"Yes, sa casting, as we are able to assemble several of the biggest young stars of the two rival networks, ABS-CBN and GMA 7.

"In addition," Roselle continued, "the film features numerous special effects crafted by premiere visual effects creator, Larger Than Life.

"We actually had more than two teams of artists working on the special effects for months to actualize the jaw-dropping scenes.

"Bilin sa akin ng Mommy ko at kay Dondon (Monteverde, Mother Lily’s son) na rin, not to do wrong."

Larger Than Life, which is in-charge of the special effects, is owned by Dondon.

APT Entertainment co-produces "Shake, Rattle and Roll 10" with Regal Entertainment.

Dingdong Dantes’ presence at the premiere of "Shake, Rattle and Roll" did not surprise the members of the movie press. It only confirmed what has been suspected all along: that there’s more than meets the eye between Dingdong and Marian.

The two were seated together and they were, as expected, sweet to each other.

Too bad that Dingdong and Marian did not attend the party after the screening.

At Regal’s blowout for "Shake, Rattle and Roll 10," we had the chance to talk to JC de Vera, who confirmed the rumor that he is attracted to Rhian Ramos, who plays his leading lady in the GMA 7 series, "La Lola."

Yes, he is courting her, he added. And if he wins her heart, he would be proud and happy.

"Rhian is one of the nicest and most intelligent girls in this business. I love working with her," said JC.

He also said that he has met Rhian’s mom and her aunt, Ida Henares, who heads Artist Center, the talent arm of GMA 7.

Rhian is under with Artist Center (naturally), while JC’s career is being managed by Anna-belle Rama.

JC also said that he has already told Rhian his wish to meet her British dad who works in Dubai.
