IN a text message, which former Pantasya ng Bayan, Joyce Jimenez, sent to her talent manager, Shirley Kuan, she wrote: "It's worth it."

Joyce was, of course, referring to the 21 hours of labor she went through to give birth to her firstborn, a girl, last Friday, October 16.

Joyce gave birth by normal delivery at the Sharp Mary Birch Hospital in California.

Joyce said she and her husband, Paul Ely Egbalic, have decided to name the baby, Jorja Ely.

The girl weighed 5.13 lbs and was 18.25 inches long.

Paul Ely is with the US Marine. He and Joyce are childhood friends.

They got married two years ago.

Remember Stella Ruiz?

In her time, she was one of the busiest bold stars.

Well, after her decision to quit showbiz, we heard she went into the beauty parlor business.

Her decision to try her luck in the US was something she didn't share with many of her friends.

Well, we are happy to learn that Stella got married to the man of her dreams, Philip Peredo, last Sept. 5 at the St. Peter the Apostolic Church in Henderson, Nevada, USA.

The two honeymooned in Spain, Paris and London.

By the way, if the groom's name sounds familiar, it is because at one time, Philip was linked to comedienne Gladys Guevarra.

It's confirmed: Star Records recording artist Erik Santos will travel to several Asian territories to promote his new album, "Erik Santos: The Jim Brickman Songbook."

Erik recorded the album in the US and right in the presence of Jim Brickman. The award-winning singer and song writer appears so attached to his songs that in one of their conversations, Jim told Erik that he only allows other singers to record his song if he knows the singer can do justice to the song.

"Kaya naman I told him, I feel so proud. And really, I am," Erik said excitedly.

This is Erik's sixth album. But it is his first to be officially released in Asia, including in Japan, Hongkong, Korea, Singapore, Vietnam, Taiwan and Thailand.

On November 14, he will leave for Singapore for his first album launch. Then, he goes to Malaysia. November 24, he hits Japan, where he will stay until November 27.

Then he goes back to Singapore on November 29 to face a 3,000-crowd.

He will have to return to the Philippines for his November 24 scheduled concert with Sitti at the Aliw Theater.

"But when I leave again, December na ang balik ko," Erik said.

Erik is one among of the Organisayon ng Mang-Aawit ng Pilipinong Pilipino (OPM) members who is participating in a concert organized by Ogie Alcasid and Girlie Rodis called "Kaya Natin Ito," a fund-raising event for the victims of Ondoy and Pepeng.

"Kaya Natin Ito" will be held on December 5 at the Mall of Asia concert grounds.

Erik claims that after his break-up from Rufa Mae Quinto – and this was two ago – he has remained loveless. But not helpless and joy-less, Erik is quick to add.

At 26, he is not in a hurry to fall in love again.

"Although, kapag, wika nga, aksidenteng na-in love ako, I will welcome the idea. Masarap ang ma-in love," Erik admitted. "When I was in love with P-chi (Rufa Mae's pet name), feeling ko, I was on top of the world palagi."

Then how come they broke up?

For the first time, Erik revealed the reason for his and Rufa Mae's break-up: "We mutually agreed to part ways. This was because we came to that point when we'd argue over the littlest things. 'Yong tipong para magkainisan lang. Why that happened, we don't know. But we have remained friends to date."

He said that should Rufa Mae really get married in May, he will volunteer to sing at her wedding. He might even compose a song for the couple. Or he will render his winning song, "This Is the Moment," which is really a wedding song.

"In the short time that P-chi and I have been together, I can tell she'll make any man proud to have her for his wife," Erik further declared.
