Fanny asks for Echo, gets Gary V instead

Singer Gary Valenciano's wife Angeli Pangilinan and famous hairstylist and make-up artist Fanny Serrano have been very good friends for so long they've learned to let go of petty things that threaten their relationship.

It's not because Angeli gets her face done in Fanny's saloon for free but because they have maintained a harmonious and God-filled relationship.

There have been a lot of times when their friendship has been put to a test but they always managed to rise above intrigues and small talk.

Just recently, Serrano mounted a hair and trade show, and he had to invite musical artists to lend entertainment numbers during hair competition, seminars on beauty and wellness, displays of the newest gadgets on hair trends, and other components of the event.

Fanny thought of inviting Jericho Rosales. "Kasi, pambagets si Jericho. Para may variations. Di ba, in-na-in na naman ngayon si Echo so I remembered him very much. At saka, marami ring bagets sa show kaya makakadagdag ng interest si Echo.

"So I called up Angeli. She started to run through Echo's schedule to find out if the guy's free on that day. But when she returned to the phone, sabi niya, hindi puwede si Echo dahil ang daming tapings. I felt a little bit disappointed and sad. Pero it's not the end of the world yet," Serrano said.

Gary V to the rescue

But wait! Pangilinan thought of a more feasible replacement for Jericho.

Angeli knew the nature of Fanny's occasion so she readily name-dropped her husband.

"Why not Gary?" she asked Fanny.

"Ay! My God! Iba na 'yon. Baka hindi ko kayanin," Fanny humbly said.

"No, tingnan natin ang kanyang schedule at itanong natin kung gusto n'ya," Angeli advised her friend.

Right there and then, the wife called up her husband and immediately, he consented to do a musical number in Cosmetologie '09 held at the SMX Convention Center of the Mall of Asia.

"Ang sabi raw ni Gary, 'Naku, si Fanny pa. Sige, I'll do it'," quipped Fanny.

And Gary V. didn't only sing one song but two numbers as well, "Shout for Joy," and a medley of his original music.

"Na-touch talaga ako kay Gary. Hindi ko akalain na pagbibigyan niya ako. I am really blessed," said Serrano.

"Pag friends talaga, walang hindi gagawin para sa success ng kanyang friend," he added.
