Sexy actress Francine Prieto has appealed for blood donations for her cancer-stricken mother.

In a text message, Prieto said: "Hi! Everyone! Si Mommy Amy ko may ovarian cancer, tomorrow [May 23] magstart 1st cycle ng neoadjuvant chemotherapy niya, dahil mababa hemoglobin niya kaya kakailanganin niya ng blood lalo na sa surgery niya. Sa mga gusto magdonate, punta kayo sa Cardinal Santos Medical Center, Wilson St., San Juan 7 am-8pm."

Francine's mother, Amelia Falcon, had been complaining of stomach pain, but she reportedly kept ignoring it because it would subside immediately.

According to movie writer Arthur Quinto, whose friend, Jean Tusi Contis, actor Paolo Contis' mom, is close to Amelia, Prieto's mom has been suffering from ovarian cancer a long time, but was diagnosed with it only recently.

Francine, Anna Marie Falcon in real life, is very close to Amy. She considers her not only as a parent but also as a friend and confidante, especially in showbiz where the young actress rarely finds "real persons."

Prieto got her real big television exposure when Amy brought her to erstwhile popular PR-manager, movie producer and TV host Boy C. de Guia's "StarBrighters."

As a Little StarBrighter, she used her baptismal name on the show until Seiko Films' Robbie Tan christened her Francine Prieto.

The elder Falcon has been tagging along with her daughter in practically all commitments until her confinement in the hospital.

Despite her hectic schedule, Francine has been beside her mom most of the time.

"Pakilagay sa name ng patient Amelia Falcon, for every bag na kakailanganin, 3 donors ang kapalit. Maganda din magdonate para sa cycle ng blood ninyo," said Francine in her text message.
