GMA Network maintained its strong nationwide TV ratings performance as it moves closer to grabbing the overall lead from its biggest competitor.

Based on AGB Nielsen's NUTAM survey dated February 17 to 23, GMA remained at par with ABS-CBN in terms of total day people ratings. Both Networks are tied at 7. 8%.

GMA also trailed its rival Network by a slim 0. 5% in terms of total day household ratings. ABS-CBN posted a total day household rating of 16. 6% while GMA posted 16. 1%.

ABS-CBN's household audience share lead also decreased from 2. 1% for the period of February 10 to 16 to 1. 2% for the period covering February 17 to 23. Six out of the top 10 overall programs nationwide were from GMA. The phenomenal primetime program Marimar ranked 1st while Joaquin Bordado and Kamandag ranked 2nd and 4th, respectively. GMA's Kapuso Mo , Jessica Soho, Bitoy's Funniest Videos, and Kap's Amazing Stories also made it to the lineup of top 10 programs.

GMA shows also dominated the list of overall top 10 programs in Urban Luzon. The first six posts are occupied by Kapuso-made programs. Marimar, Joaquin Bordado, and Kamandag were the top three programs.

GMA's ratings supremacy extended until the reach of North/Central Luzon . The overall top 10 programs in the said area are all GMA's. Nineteen out of the overall top 30 programs are GMA programs. Marimar, Joaquin Bordado, and Kamandag are still the best three programs.

GMA's ratings in South Luzon and Urban Mindanao also showed noteworthy increases.

GMA continues to advance its signal and facilities in key cities particularly in the South.

It is to no surprise should GMA soon take over the lead in Nationwide TV ratings given the good run of its momentum relative to that of the rival channel.
