| Gary V admits Sharon and Kiko had a spatAuthor: Edgar Cruz Gary Valenciano does not see Sharon Cuneta often. During the press conference of his Live@25 concert, he said, I talk to Sharon once in a while, but for Kiko, he always sends me text messages. But Im waiting for the day when we sit together and talk. Also, he thinks that Sen. Francis Kiko Pangilinan is not stupid to split from Sharon or even consider the idea. Even if they deny that they have a marital problem, the truth is coming out from people close to them. But being the peacemaker that he is, Gary V explained, Arguments are part of marriage. If you dont have that, you will have an abnormal marriage. Recently, Gary V has toured in Vienna, Belfast and London, and plans to release a ballad platinum collection due to the success of the GV25 tribute album. And so all of Gary Vs activities lead to Live@25 on Nov. 14 and 15 at the Araneta Coliseum with special guests Rivermaya, Sugarfree, Bloomfields, Yeng Constantino and Laarni Lozada, among others, with dance groups Powerplay and Manoeuvres. So the dream concert with Martin Nievera does not happen this year. But Gary says, Ill be ecstatic to see him in the audience! Vhong says hes no Piolo and John Lloyd Siguro nabulag lang si Toni (Gonzaga) when she said I look like matinee idols Piolo Pascual and John Lloyd Cruz, Vhong Navarro said during the launch of the Streetboys dance album Lets Dance, a Dancexercise Instructional Audio-Video CD under Star Records. The No. 1, all-male hiphop dance group in the country, the Streetboys, is made up of members Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, Maynard Marcellano, Nico Manalo, Chris Cruz, Sherwin Roux, Fritz Tibay, Jonathan Granaderos, Jemart Lalic, Carlo Quintos and Joey Andres. Their album contains five songs with the dance steps demonstrated by the Streetboys via the video, which was shot for only a day. The tracks include Sige Igalaw, The Hustle, Pata-pata-pon, You Should Be Dancing, and the carrier single that has been topping the charts of different radio stations, Ayos na ang Buto-buto, sung by Vhong Navarro. Four out of the five tracks were sung by the Streetboys themselves. Bloomfields finds solutions The Bloomfields crew is working on making their group tighter, both in terms of music and rapport. When they were just starting, Jay Jay Lozano (lead Rickenbacker) momentarily left the band and was replaced by Lakan Hila. When Jay Jay came back, Louie Poco (bass), Rocky Collado (drums) and Pepe Lozano (rhythm guitar) didnt want to just leave Lakan hanging. So they made him pump on the keyboards. With the release of their Christmas album, they added new elements such as brass and strings, but Pepe and Louie say that the hardest part comes with the vocalization. They even got into squabbles because of this, but with a little patience, understanding and PlayStation, they get by. Their Pasko Natin To album under EMI records has 11 tracks, of which Pasko Natin To, Ikaw Ang Musika, and Put A Smile On Your Face were composed by Jay Jay. Get a load of 1960s music with contemporary flavor from the Bloomfields new Christmas album. Jennylyn denies borrowing money from Valerie Valerie Concepcion lent money to Jennylyn Mercado, her co-star in OctoArts official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival-Philippines One Night Only, by way of their common handler. Valerie never gave it a second thought, both of them having the same manager and all. The Slendance and Energo endorser might have thought that Jennylyn was going to use it for a business venture for the future of baby Jazz. It came as a surprise, though, when Valerie talked with Jennylyn during the shoot of the naughty but very funny movie, One Night Only, in which she plays Vicky one of those who gets toyed with by fate. Jennylyn said she does not remember borrowing any money from Valerie. It wouldve been nice if she got a cheque from the Wowowee co-host, even if she had to pay it back, but she didnt. The money that was loaned never reached Jennylyn. Allegedly, it was their handler who took it. They have been on the road with this handler for four years now, the reason Valerie trusted her even with money matters. This goes to show that with money at stake, you can never tell. Rep. Irwin bats for texting safety Rep. Irwin Tieng of Buhay Partylist is once again at the forefront of passing House Bill 4917 or the Anti-texting While Driving Act of 2008, which prohibits and penalizes reading, composing and sending SMS while driving. Representative Irwin, along with Reps. Rene Velarde and Ma. Carissa Coscolluela, believes that texting while driving is worse than drunk driving. These representatives are positive that passing of this bill will help lessen road accidents. According to recent studies, vehicular accidents have risen to an alarming level. Though not all incidents are caused by texting, it is still imperative for lawmakers to do something before it gets even worse. In the Philippines, except for few cities such as Quezon City and Makati, which have ordinances banning the use of cell phone while driving, there is no law yet to this effect. Once the bill is passed in the Philippines, offenders shall be penalized with imprisonment for a period of one day to six months and/or fined P5,000 to P100,000 at the discretion of the Court.
