Geoff Eigenmann is no longer courting Nikki Gil

With all the gossip going around about Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 hosts Nikki Gil and Billy Crawford becoming extra close-and even romantic, many are asking whatever happened to Geoff Eigenmann's courtship of Nikki. During the pictorial of the upcoming teleserye MoonRiver, Geoff admitted that he had already stopped pursuing the TV host-actress. "Stop na ['yung panliligaw]. I think we would be better off as friends. Okay lang ako. For now I'm spending time for myself."

Geoff and Nikki knew each other from school and later on as MYX VJs. Geoff supposedly started to court Nikki when they were doing the animeserye Rounin. At the time, Nikki had just come from a breakup with Gab Valenciano. It was much later when Billy Crawford came onto the scene when he and Nikki became co-hosts on PDA2.

For now, Geoff and Nikki are back to being friends. "We're still friends. Nag-uusap pa rin kami. Wala pa namang nagbabago. Hindi na magbabago kasi she has been a part of my life sobrang tagal na rin," said Geoff. And being the good friend that he said he is, the 23-year-old actor wished Nikki and Billy well. "Good for them. Happy boy ako. I'm happy for them, kung sila nga or still dating. Walang selos."

Something else that has Geoff preoccupied these days is the news that his dad Michael de Mesa has plans of quitting showbiz and moving to the US by early 2009. The veteran actor had confessed his frustration over the lack of jobs for screen actors in local showbiz and how he has to look for other options to make a living and support his children.

Geoff said that despite being sad over his dad's impending departure, he is supporting his dad in his decision. "It's his decision naman, it's sad nga lang because he'll be leaving. But if he thinks it will be better for him, support lang ako sa kanya. Never namang nawala ang dad ko kahit naghiwalay na sila ng mom ko. Ever since laging nandiyan si dad na naka-support sa amin all the way. Kung gusto niyang makatulong ng more [sa aming magkakapatid], okay lang, pero wala naman kaming hinihingi sa kanya."
