WHAT is in store for Mariel Rodriguez now that she is about to officially relinquish her tag as "unofficial" housemate in "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition">Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition 2" (PBB-CE2)? She is reportedly leaving Big Brothers house on Saturday.

As far as viewers of PBBCE2 are concerned, being part of the reality show did Mariel a lot of harm. Her stint as a housemate showed televiewers so many unpleasant aspects about her. People discovered that she often used cuss words even without provocation. And who can forget what she said about the entertainment industry where she works? "Kadiri ang showbiz," she said.

Now it can be told that her current love is Zanjoe Marudo, who had denied it at the presscon of his indie movie, "Altar." But everyone believes it was Zanjoe whom Mariel talked to when Big Brother gave her the privilege to call two people she dearly loves.

The other person that Mariel spoke with was her lolo.

Do you know that Mariels grandmother was a former LVN star? Her name is May Villarica.

Mariel grew up in the care of her grandparents. She and her sister were left to them after their parents separated. "At nag kanya-kanya ng buhay," she said.

While Mariels Lola May never made it big like her contemporaries, say Luz Valdez (who even made a Hollywood movie opposite popular foreign actor Jack Mahoney) or Perla Bautista (who is still active in showbiz), she had the chance to star opposite the biggest leading men then, including Bernard Bonnin, the father of Charlene Gonzales (who is now the wife of Aga Muhlach).

Bernards biggest and most popular movie, "Palos," is now being made into an action teleserye. Produced by ABS-CBN, it stars Cesar Montano and Jake Cuenca, who are working together for the first time.

In any case, Angel Locsin is reportedly being eyed to replace Mariel in Kuyas house.

Vandolf Quizon and his bride, Jenny, will have 26 sponsors on their wedding on December 3.

Vandolf, of course, is comedian Dolphys son by Alma Moreno.

Jenny has been reportedly Vandolfs live-in partner for years now. She used to work as a dancer on TV until Vandolf requested her to quit her job. He promised to support not only Jenny but also her family, and Vandolf has kept that promise.

Jenny came into Vandolfs life when he was at his lowest. He had then just figured in a car accident which killed his young girlfriend and for a time, he was inconsolable. Nobody thought he would ever recover from the tragedy.

He revealed that it was Jenny who helped him and taught him how to live again after that loss.

Vandolf was last seen with his Daddy Dolphy, Susan Roces and Maricel Soriano in the defunct sitcom, "John En Shirley." He will soon be part of "Palos."

Vandolf hopes to eventually become an effective comedian like his father.
