Heart of Buboy, scent of Lloydie

Author: Ronald Constantino

FROM DIFFERENT GENERATIONS - Cesar Montano and John Lloyd Cruz.

Two fine actors belonging to different generations. Buboy, as Cesar is called by friends, started in the '70s and peaked in the '80s, maintaining his popularity to date. Lloydie is the current box-office king.

Buboy and Lloydie are much sought-after product endorsers and this columnist attended presscons where they took center stage as image models. Cesar bats for healthy living via the "healthy heart" campaign of Mega Sardines. John Lloyd is billed "new man in town" of Joel Cruz. "Lord of the Scents."

The Mega Sardines presscon was sort of intimate, held at the Italian restaurant owned by Cesar and his wife, Sunshine Cruz, Bellissimo. The one for JLC was bongga, staged at the Skydome, attended by no less than Imelda Marcos.

HEART OF BUBOY - Mr. Montano endorses only products he believes in, like Mega Sardines, exported in over 40 countries, attesting to its quality. Its president, William Tiu Lim, says his company is the first in Asia to use the fish pump technology, ensuring the freshness of the fish.

Buboy likes the "healthy heart" line of Mega Sardines as he is all heart in whatever he does. Acting, writing, directing, singing, painting, hosting. Yes, he is all that.

At the proper time, he'll announce his candidacy for governor of Bohol, promising to serve its people with all his might and heart.

But it is true that he is running as an independent or with the opposition? Is he no longer with the administration?

SCENT OF LLOYDIE - Mr. Cruz is popular with guys (gays, too) and gals. With that in mind, Joel Cruz came up with two eau de toilettes for the actor: Like Him, a male scent that highlights all the positive and admirable masculine qualities, and Like Her, a female scent that arouses the interest of JLC, making him look twice, thrice.

Ladies, young and old alike, fall for the scent of Lloydie, in a manner of speaking. Think RG, LU, JG, CS, BA, SG, among others.

At the Joel Cruz presscon, the other images were also presented: Alfred Vargas, Pauleen Luna, Ejay Falcon, Ronnie Liang, and Dennis Trillo.

SPEEDY NOTES - Hope that Willie Revillame will be back soon in 'Wowowee'. No one but no one can replace him... If, indeed, Rufa Mae Quinto is engaged to a Spanish mestizo with links to the royal family of Spain, she should learn Spanish pronto. She can enroll at Instituto Cervantes... Laurice Guillen played Cory Aquino in the TV series 'Dangerous Life,' while Tessie Villarama was also Tita Cory in two Carlo Caparas films.
