It was a diamond ring, that's why. Heart is the latest addition to the stable of talents of Annabelle Rama. Ruffa, by the way, is also one of Annabelle's wards. Heart plays Ruffa's younger brother Richard Gutierrez' leading lady in his new teleserye, "Code Name: Asero." *** How did Heat become a talent of Annabelle? A reliable source told us that Annabelle decided to talk to the young actress when the former learned that Heart's contract with ABS-CBN and with her former talent manager Angeli Pangilinan-Valenciano had expired. Annabelle's primary purpose, however, was just to ask Heart if she would accept an offer from GMA 7 to play her son Richard's partner in "Code Name: Asero." It was reportedly Heart's parents who asked Annabelle to manage their daughter. *** Heart looked voluptuous when she attended the party of Ruffa at The Blue Leaf, The Fort in Taguig City, two Saturdays ago. The body-hugging knitted attire showed off her curves. An observer, who professes to have followed the actress' career from the start, wonders if Heart submitted to buttock enhancement. And did Heart also undergo a boob job? "Aba, too perfect ang mga pagbabago sa mga nabanggit na parte ng kanyang katawan. "Hoy, Heart, what gives?" the observer wants to know. *** The secret to Rachel Alejandro's win in "The Singing Bee," according to her talent manager, Girlie Rodis, is that the singer was actually not keen on winning. Rachel just wanted to enjoy being a contestant. As of this writing, she has won a total of P1,248,000. Girlie revealed that Rachel could have added more to that had she not voluntarily backed out to go to a singing engagement in Abu Dhabi. *** Meet the new head of Studio 23, Antonio "March" Ventosa. He has replaced Leo Katigbak, who is now with the office of ABS-CBN president Charo Santos-Concio. Katigbak, though, remains head of special projects and in charge of Studio 23's primetime programming. March, before joining ABS-CBN as head of marketing, used to serve as the managing director of Hemisphere-Leo Burnett advertising and Dentsu, Young and Rubicam Advertising. *** When March met with the movie press recently, he announced Studio 23's desire to intensify its programming by coming out with the hottest shows and must-see television specials. Some of the programs which he mentioned that will soon premiere in Studio 23 are "Two and a Half Man," starring the wacky trio of Charlie Sheen, Jon Cryer and Angus Jones. "Ghost Whisperer," March said, will begin its third season on July 13, a Sunday. On July 15, it is airing the prime telecast of "Miss Universe 2008." Then there's "Cheetah Girls" on July 26. What March feels especially proud of, though, is the controversial and most-talked about US series, "Dirty Sexy Money," which premiered Sunday (July 6).
