Here’s Eugene’s

This is really it for Eugene Domingo.

"Thirty-eight na ako, ‘pag hindi ko pa gagawin ‘to, mabubulok na ako," she says, half in jest.

The admired actress and comedienne is launched in her first (and second, according to the movie’s website) starring role in "Kimmy Dora (Kambal sa Kiyeme)," where she plays twins Kimmy and Dora Go Dong Hae.

Uge, as she is fondly called, is overjoyed and grateful for the break given to her by Spring Films, the production company formed by Piolo Pascual and friends, business manager Erickson Raymundo, cinematographer Shayne Sarte and director Bb. Joyce Bernal.

Until "Kimmy Dora," Uge has mostly been relegated to the role of best friend or sidekick, but she is proof of the saying "there are no small roles, only small actors" with her memorable characters not only making lasting imprints but also earning her innumerable praise from critics. Now it’s Uge’s turn to shine and be the star!

Magic. Parang ‘Harry Potter’ lang," she jokingly adds.

In this outrageous comedy written by Chris Martinez and directed by Bb. Bernal, Eugene’s roles are exact opposite. Kimmy is smart, sexy and sophisticated while Dora is simple, sweet, and slow. Riot happens when a man – the handsome Johnson, played by Dingdong Dantes – and the Go Dong Hae fortune come in between the sisters.

"Kimmy Dora" is from Spring Films in association with MJM Productions. It is being released by Star Cinema and showing on September 2.
