| Hookups On The HOUSE! Bromance and Romance take centrestage in Season 5![]() Author: AXN Asia 27 Feb 2009, Singapore - TV's favourite grouch personality Dr. House will be back this March with the latest season of House first and exclusively on AXN. Season 4's finale left most fans reeling with disbelief as House (Hugh Laurie) put his bromance with Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) on the line when he became a direct accomplice in the death of Wilson's girlfriend, Amber (Anne Dudek). With Wilson bereaved with loss and House being his usual caustic self, the Hilson duo looks set to part ways as Season 5 opens with another shocker - Wilson tendering his resignation at the Princeton-Plainsborough Hospital! House, as one of TV's most compelling medical dramas, has never run out of fresh storylines since day one, which certainly explains why the long-running series still heads the pack in US ratings in its time period with adults demographic of ages 18-49. Expect no less this season as Hugh Laurie, a two-time Golden Globe winner for his riveting performance in House, takes us on an emotional rollercoaster ride. Things have become choppy for Hilson post-Amber with Wilson's imminent departure. House clambers to convince him otherwise, by chalking his behavior up to bereavement 101, which of course, does nothing to stop a mourning man firm on distancing himself from his toxic ex-best pal. Left adrift after losing his only friend, House finds a surrogate buddy in private investigator, Lucas Douglas (Michael Weston, Law & Order: SVU), who pokes into patients' backgrounds to help doctors with their diagnoses. However, House being House, puts him to work on some very personal tasks; digging up dirt on his own team and... snooping on Wilson to find out how he is faring without House by his side! Things also heat up for Huddy - House and Cuddy - as the long-simmering flirtation between him and sexy Dean of Medicine Dr. Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein), bloom with a spontaneous lip lock this season, a delicious development especially after House's fantasy of Cuddy doing a schoolgirl striptease last season. Before one starts envisioning hand-holding and lovey-dovey dates to the movies, bear in mind that this is House we are talking about. Huddy's dynamics evolve post-kiss as Cuddy grapples with her maternal inclinations and the duo indulge in playing a series of little pranks on each other, with even more sparks flying when Cuddy moves temporarily into House's office. Meanwhile, House's underlings also begin their own brew of romance as Thirteen (Olivia Wilde) comes to terms with her incurable Huntington's condition, with the help of Foreman (Omar Epps) and the two explore the beginnings of something new with a passionate kiss. As Toreman's budding relationship comes under the radar of House, their jobs are in peril as House issues an ultimatum - one of them would have to leave his team! House, despite his acerbic wit and bizarre behavior, remains highly sought after for his brilliant medical diagnoses and this is never more apparent than in this season, as patients resort to one-night stands and holding hostages to get his consultations! Fans of the series's medical mysteries will not be disappointed as peculiar cases continue to be tackled with aplomb by House and his team. Intriguing cases this season include recipients of the same organ donor who keep dropping dead one by one and a man who loses track of time unknowingly. Will Wilson reconcile with House? Will House get together with Cuddy finally? Who will leave House's team? Answers to these pressing questions will be revealed in House Season 5, coming to you on first and exclusively this March on AXN! House Season 5 premieres 9 March 2009 on AXN Source: AXN Asia |
