| Intimate Ryan-Juday wedding happening this year![]() Author: Mario E. Bautista Ryan Agoncillo says that he and fiancee Judy Ann Santos are definitely tying the knot this year. "I just want to make it clear na you asked me about it, huh," says Ryan. "Hindi sakin nagsimula kasi may nagsasabi na ayan na naman, puro wedding na lang nila. Were now househunting and hopefully, within the week, we can seal the deal sa napili naming bahay in the south that has three bedrooms and a den," he says. "Were not sure yet about the date but we both want our wedding to be simple, more intimate. No details yet except for Sharon Cuneta being the matron of honor and my own brother Dondi as best man. We have only two ninong and two ninang, so hindi siya showbiz na wedding na maraming sponsors. We want to have it in a church talaga, but hindi pa sure which one. There will be no TV coverage, so walang selling of TV rights. Kung puede, wala ring TV crew. Hindi sila banned, but well request them to help us make the wedding solemn and personal. I hope theyll respect our decision. We dont want it to be a circus. Well just provide the networks with the footage taken by our own videographers and photos from our photographer friends who offered their services for free. Talagang mas inuna muna namin yung having a house of our own. It also wont be lavish and we dont even have plans for a honeymoon kasi were already spending a lot for our house." Whos the more jealous type between them? "Ako, pag nagseselos, sinasabi ko. Siya tumatahimik at di niya inaaming nagseselos siya, pero biglang malamig na in dealing with me." What did they do with the P1 million they won in "Kapamilya Deal or No Deal"? "Ininintrega ko kay Juday ang check nang buong-buo." Ryan is glad that his show on TV 5, "Talentadong Pinoy" on Saturdays at 7 p.m., is now one of its highest rating shows and has just started its 3rd season. "We now hit the double digits, 10% plus. Slowly but surely, its really going up. And the response from the public is so great. Ang daming gustong sumali as we feature not only singing or dancing talents but acrobats, magic acts, and like an OFW from Dubai who makes art from sand. Anywhere I go, may magpapasikat sakin then ask me: puede na ho ba ito sa Talentadong Pinoy? I really enjoy doing the show as it reunited me it with my staff sa Philippine Idol before, from the director to the writers to the crew, kaya gamay na namin ang isat isa. In this show, I also get to meet all kinds of people with all sorts of hidden talents. Weve given breaks to a lot of contestants. Jessa Mendoza, a 15-year-old singer from Caloocan was discovered when she joined the show and is now in Lipgloss as the love interest of Mikee Lee. Three-year-old Elmo Rodriguez joined as a dancer. Now, hes part of the childrens show Kiddie Kwela. Another boy dancer, Carl Acosta, 5, was recruited by the shows juror, Audie Gemora, to be part of his new play, Joseph the Dreamer. Mark Mangaliman, a man with 60 voices, is now Shock Attacks official voice over master. Our champion sa first season is actually a dog and his master, Booger and Byron. The dog can do a lot of amazing tricks and even dances to Achy Breaky Heart. A family of acrobats naman, the Gutierrezes, became champions for several weeks then they got an offer to perform in Taiwan so international na sila ngayon. We hope to attract more talented Pinoys on our third season." We ask Ryan if its true that SuperManuel will win as Ultimo Participante in "Pinoy Fear Factor." "Give me P10 million and Ill tell you, kasi P5 million ang fine to anyone wholl divulge the results," he laughs. *** Angelica Panganiban looked radiant at her launching, along with Anne Curtis, as the newest endorsers of Swatch for their Original Skin campaign. She thanks her boyfriend Derek Ramsey for introducing her to Swatch boss Virgie Ramos. "He was the first one to endorse Swatch then he took me to a party at the home of Tita Virgie who liked me well enough to give me some watches," she said. "Ang gaganda kaya pinag-aagawan namin ni Derek. I didnt know kukunin din pala nila akong endorser. They made the offer last December. Derek got envious nga kasi, ako, may launching pa with Anne, siya noon, wala." Why is the new Swatch called Original Skin? "Because its so thin at 3.9 mm. that you dont feel youre wearing it, parang part ng skin mo lang." She and Derek have been on for more than two years and she says they have lasted because they give each other enough space. "Hindi kami demanding na kailangang magkita tayo araw-araw. That way, we dont feel na sinasakal namin ang isat isa and we even miss each other. Kahit sinong tao naman, pag masyadong confining ang relationship, feeling niya, kinukulong siya. Sa amin, the important thing is we trust each other. Nagkakaroon din kami ngLQ but we just keep it to ourselves at di na pinalalaki. But now, more mature na kami kaya kung maliliit na bagay rin lang, we just let it pass." They will star in the Valentine presentation of "Your Song" for all Sundays of February. "This is our second time in Your Song at may love scene kami, hindi na puro pa-cute lang. Hindi naman grabe dahil its for TV, pero kinabahan pa rin kami kasi first time naming gumawa ng ganito na magkapareha kami. Maraming nagandahan kaya bibigyan daw kami ng movie to be shot in March or April." Has she considered Derek to be her lifetime partner? "Of course, when youre in a serious relationship, di ba yun naman ang iniisip mong mangyari? But I dont want to expect too much kasi ayoko ring masaktan. Basta happy lang ako with the way things are going on between us now, so Id rather not rush things." What will they do on Valentines Day? "This will be our third. Noong 2007, we went outing sa Calatagan at naglakad kami sa gubat doon. Kaming dalawa lang. Last year, we were working pero noong gabi we had dinner sa bahay lang at nilutuan ko siya ng steak with mashed potatoes. Mas gusto niya yung ganun, mga simpleng celebration lang than going to a fancy restaurant." *** Paolo Contis has proven his worth as an all- around actor who can do lead and supporting roles, drama and comedy, with equal ease. He tried hosting a magazine show before but now, he tries his hand at hosting a game show in "My Dad Is Better Than Your Dad" which is derived from a hit US show. We watched the pilot episode and Paolo has the energy and comic drive to sustain such a fun-filled game show. Each episode consists of four pairs of dads with son or daughter (aged 8 to 10 years old). There will be four distinct segments that will require physical as well as mental skills. In "Ang Daddy Kong Fast," each team of dad and child will have to hurdle obstacle courses within a time limit. In "Ang Daddy Kong Strong," Dad will have to use his muscles in games of brute but calculated force to get high points in challenges that require brawn. In "Ang Daddy Kong Smart," dad will have to rely on his brain while cheered on by his kid. In "Ang Daddy Kong Brave," dads guts will be put to an ultimate test as he is subjected to a hair-raising or gooey task to prove his determination. "The show is aimed to provide the ultimate bonding experience for families as Mommies and other siblings will be invited to be part of the studio audience and cheer on the dads and kids," says Paolo. "Kung bata-bata pa ako, sumali na sana kami ng daddy ko rito kasi each winning pair of dad and kid takes home P100,000." "My Dad Is Better Than Your Dad" will start airing on February 8 after "Kaps Amazing Stories" replacing "Family Feud" on Sundays. One last question to Paolo: Does he see himself being a good dad when he and Lian Paz start having kids of their own? "Of course, Ill be the best dad I can be, kahit na sino pang girl ang maging mommy ng magiging anak ko," he says. Paolo is really one of the busiest stars on GMA as he also makes people laugh in "Bubble Gang" and plays villain to Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes in "Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang." "Im glad iba-ibang talent ang napapakita ko in each show. In Babaeng Hinugot, the viewers will hate me once again in my role as Rado, a thug whos so in love with Proserfina, played by Marian. The one whos so in love with me here is Francine Prieto, pero hindi ko siya pinapansin at ipipilit ko ang sarili ko kay Marian." *** Sen. Bong Revillas best friends both had a not-so-good start for 2009. Sen. Jinggoy Estrada had to undergo an operation to remove gall bladder and then he also had viral infection, while Phillip Salvador figured in a controversial tiff with a bus driver and now, a Las Piñas court recently sentenced to 20 years in prison for estafa and ordered him to pay P5.1 million to businesswoman and former girlfriend Cristina Decena. "Dinalaw ko si Sen. Jinggoy at okay na siya," says Sen. Bong at the thanksgiving party for the press he hosted with wife Lani Mercado and sister Andeng Ynares at Annabels Restaurant. "Si Kuya Ipe naman, I spoke with him and hes depressed. I told him not to lose hope kasi its still a long process dahil daraan pa yan sa Court of Appeals." He showed the trailer of his entry to the 2009 Metro filmfest, "Ang Panday," and the special effects showing the magic sword of Flavio hurling through space and being caught by Bong is quite impressive. "This will be a prequel to the first Panday of the late FPJ," he says. "Itll show the origins not only of Panday but also of his mortal enemy, Lizardo. The movie will be directed by Rico Gutierrez and Mac Alejandre. Were now completing the cast of the film." What about the movie hes supposed to do for Star Cinema with Ruffa Gutierrez and Zanjoe Marudo? "I dont think Ill still have time to do it kasi well start shooting Panday in March. Sayang nga, kasi noon ko pa hinihingi ang full script from them pero wala naman silang maibigay sa akin." To preserve the countrys film heritage, Sen. Bong has instituted the proper archiving and restoration of award-winning and acclaimed local films. "Other countries like Indonesia, Vietnam, India and Cuba have their own national film archives so our government should help us maintain our own national film archive. Were instituting this through Senate Bill No. 19 that aims to establish our own archives under the Film Development Council of the Philippines." He has also filed a bill for TV networks to provide closed captions or subtitles in their news programs. "We have 4.5 million deaf Filipinos who will benefit from this and will help keep them well informed." *** We told Lani Mercado she was seen shedding copious tears in GMA-7s hit afternoon soap, "Saan Darating ang Umaga," everyday. "Its really emotionally draining," she says. "Mula nang mamatay ang husband kong si Joel Torre in the story, walang episode na hindi ako umiiyak. Id like to thank Direk Maryo de los Reyes kasihe motivates me well to do the emotional scenes effectively. One time, three crying scenes ang sunod-sunod na kinunan sa akin and after the taping, dala-dala ko pa rin yung sad feelings ko. Ang peg ko kasi, si LT (Lorna Tolentino) when she lost her husband. Tamang-tama naman, that time, katatapos din lang ng husband ko taping Kaps Amazing Stories, so I requested him na puede ba, lumabas muna kami kasi ang sikip-sikip pa rin ng dibdib ko and I need a break. Kaya lang, nagmumukha na akong kontrabida kasi inaapi ko nang husto si Jacob, ang batang ampon namin sa show whom I blame for my husbands death. One time, may affair akong pinuntahan, the kids wouldnt approach me kasi nananakit daw ako ng bata sa TV. But it paid off naman kasi ang ganda-ganda ng ratings namin. I should also commend Yasmien Kurdi who plays my daughter, kasi sobra rin ang crying scenes niya rito. Our show will air until March pa kasi marami pang twist na mare-reveal sa story ni Gary Estrada, who plays Joels scheming brother." Source: Malaya |
