Iya Villana enjoys being a kontrabida in 'Only You' Author: Fionna Acaba Iya Villania admitted that she enjoys playing the kontrabida in the teleserye Only You. As the teleserye ends in a few weeks, Iya expressed just how grateful she is for her role. "It was so much fun taping for Only You! I really enjoyed working with everyone on the set. What I really had fun doing was playing the role of Trixie. It was my first time to be in a serye playing that kind of role." Iya was surprised by the praise she has been getting for her performance because she still considers herself a newbie. "Oh my gosh. Natutuwa ako because I mean you know it was quite risky of me to take that kind of plunge or dive, because it's really something different. I'm used to playing goodie-goodie roles, but yeah, it's nice to know that even though I played something not typical of me, nagustuhan pa rin ng mga tao. Buti naman po. Thank you." Iya also isn't worried that she might typecast in kontrabida roles. "Well, if people think I'm effective, if people think I'm deserving of it then why not? It's still work and it's still an opportunity. If it's there and if it's being offered, then why not?" This host-actress-singer-MYX VJ admitted she dreams of being a total performer. "Well, you know, I don't think many people have seen the performer side of me. I really want to be a performer and entertainer because that's what I am in Australia before I came here. Doon ako nagsimula, eh. Doon ako na-discover ng manager ko. Yes, you get to see me on ASAP, but really the performer like singing-dancing... parang hindi ko pa masyado nare-release. Kasi it's always a group effort, eh. Hindi ko rin masyado [naipapakita] kasi it's always a line or two lang. So I really want to be able to tour the world like a champion. Sing and perform because I really love being on stage." Nevertheless, she still appreciates the career she has now. "That's why I love ASAP. I'm very fortunate with that show. I'm given the opportunity to be on stage and perform but I just wish I could do more of it. And not just on ASAP. But I can't ask for too much naman kasi I'm also busy with other things like Us Girls and MYX. I can't blame my other shows for that. I'm lucky to be doing what I am doing.
