WEDNESDAY at Baclaran, Thursday at St. Jude and Friday at Quiapo are favorite holy "vows" to Pinoys and even show business people share these panata. They go to these shrines on these days.

Heres a personal story from Senator Jinggoy Estrada who confides: "I am a typical religious man who go to church. Hindi naman ako palasimba pero nagsimba ako mula nung lumabas ako at naiwan ang father ko sa loob, nagpanata ako sa Baclaran."

He said he did his panata in Baclaran, on Sundays and Tuesday evenings until his wish was granted. Now former President Erap is free.

Jinggoys panata continues, this time for good friend Rudy Fernandezs good health.

Hows this for the record: Seven actresses were considered earlier before finally Director Joven Tan and scriptwriter Dennis Evangelista got whom they wanted for the starving actress role in their current movie Crossroads (formerly Paupahan).

In this movie which also stars Gloria Romero, German Moreno, Jay Manalo, Angelu de Leon and Snooky Serna, Krista Ranillo accepted (to be read: bagged) the "coveted" role.

And filming with Romy Vitug as cinematographer is in full swing at the coastal places of Navotas, an ideal location for this movie which has some foreign festivals in mind, hence, the title.

Krista Ranillo got the eight star for the starving actress in the Crossroads in the Joven Tan. Just consider, seven actresses were early interviewed. First, it was Kaye Abad who was first considered.

Then there Angelika Panganiban who was Number Two. Third, Valerie Concepcion who wanted to try something sexy. On the other hand, Wendy Valdez was a favored star for Crossroads, newcomer and favorite fifth after Aiza Marquez, the fourth one.

Wendy, however, thought the role had a negative effect, this being her launching movie. A new PBB starlet, Jamilla Obispo was the sixth to be taken it. It is a pity her boyfriend complained about the script.

Dennis Evangelista, scriptwriter, earlier thought Bianca King was their last final choice. But no. They still had the 8th star, last one in Krista Ranillo. Manager Arnold Vegafria may have a sexy daring role for comebacking Krista.
