Jake Cuenca denies getting Melissa pregnant

MANILA - Actor-endorser Jake Cuenca shot down malicious reports that he has something to do with the rumored pregnancy of young actress Melissa Ricks.

Cuenca said the report that the actress is pregnant is a total falsehood.

"Hindi naman talaga ako naniniwala, kasi siyempre, Melissa is a very fine and young lady so hindi talaga ako naniniwala. Tapos, few days later, sabi ako daw (ang may responsibilidad). Sabi ko, imposible kasi magkaibigan lang talaga kami," Cuenca told "SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon."

Ricks has already belied the "pregnancy" story.

Cuenca said that he and Ricks are just good friends, and it was unfortunate that their friendship was being dragged into the scandal.

"Pero I'm here to defend her kasi alam ko na hindi totoo 'yon," Cuenca said.

Cuenca was romantically linked with Ricks after they worked together in ABS-CBN's television show "Pedro Penduko," with Matt Evans as the lead star and the leading man of the actress.

Cuenca said he is currently focused on his work, and he will just let relationships flow naturally in case they develop.

"Dahil sa pinagdaanan ko at past relationships ko, hinihintay ko na dumating ang panahon. Feeling ko, kaya hindi nagwo-work ang former relationships ko ay dahil sa pwersado. So ngayon, hinihintay ko lang," Cuenca said.
