| Jake Cuenca prefers not to listen to his detractors![]() Author: Bernie Franco Jake Cuenca believes he continues to get projects because he takes his craft seriously. In the face of criticisms directed towards him, Jake said that he would rather count his blessings instead. "I just feel very blessed. I've worked hard. Talagang I try to be as professional as I can be and lahat ng blessings talagang tsine-cherish ko, minahamal ko at binibigay ko ang sarili ko nang buong buo sa lahat ng proyekto ko," he justified. Jake added that the success he is enjoying right now is also because of his supporters, who inspire him to take his job to heart. "They are the ones who really believe in me and they were behind me all the way." He further explained that he sees to it that he gives each role his best, whether big or small. He said, "I love my craft, my career. I am overwhelmed sa blessings." After Tayong Dalawa, Jake revealed that he is set to do a movie that will be an official entry in the Metro Manila Film Festival. He will also reprise the role of Elias Paniki in a TV adaptation for Agimat: Ang mga Alamat ni Ramon Revilla and play Angelica Panganiban's leading man in the adaptation of the Mexicanovela Rubi. I want to continue to excel so nag-enroll ako ng workshops with either Direk Laurice (Guillen) or (veteran actor) Pen Medina. So I want to do that very, very soon. Siyempre gusto kong galingan pa lalo at gusto kong matuto," he said. He added that he will resume work after he finishes the workshops. Jake is also excited about going back to Spain to spend his birthday (December 30) with his family. This will be his first time to go back home after almost eight years. But before he leaves, the mestizo actor is planning to celebrate with his fans, friends, and family in the Philippines. " Sa totoo lang bago ako umalis, gusto ko talagang magpasabog kasi andami-daming blessings. Gusto kong isukli sa lahat ng tao ito. So I'd love to spend a day with the fans, I'd love to make a separate party for my family and my co-workers," he disclosed. Source: ABS-CBN Interactive |
