Jake Cuenca says he's happy whenever he's with Melissa Ricks Author: Rachelle Siazon After Jake Cuenca's Kapamilya Live Chat on September 30, ABS-CBN.com had the chance to ask the actor about the real score between him and Melissa Ricks. When told that fans seem to be pleased at the thought of them as a couple, he admitted that it felt good to have Melissa by his side during the Sagip Kapamilya Telethon last Sunday, September 27. Those who have seen them off cam also said that their sweetness towards each other was undeniable. " Talaga? I have to say, siyempre, it made the telethon so much easier!" Jake laughed. " Siyempre malulungkot ka sa mga sinasabi ng tao sa phone 'di ba? Pero yun nga, magkasabay kami dumating because we came from a dance rehearsal for ASAP Full Circle. After the dance tinawag kami ni Mr. M (Johnny Manahan) to go there and nagkataon na nagkita kami [ni Melissa] dun," he happily related. But as much as he wants to get to know Melissa more, there are certain things he has to consider before he gets into a serious commitment again. " Siyempre ang sarap sarap talagang umibig. Pero at this point in time wala pa e. Nandun pa ako sa punto na I'm just here waiting. I don't want to jump into things too soon because that's what happened before [with Roxanne Guinoo] and obviously I wasn't ready. Kumbaga I wasn't armed with the knowledge I needed to make the relationship work out. And gusto ko yung next relationship na pasukin ko, gusto ko long term, gusto ko maging special talaga yun," said the dashing actor. ABS-CBN.com also asked if Melissa is the girl he thinks of every time he listens to his favorite song "Use Somebody" thrice a day? " Ay nako! Hahaha! You'll never know," he beamed. "I mean with me and Mel, we're really just good friends. At the same time I'm not rushing e kasi she's she's still very, very young. Ang dami pa niyang gusto ma-accomplish sa career niya. We're both very busy e." In the meantime, he encouraged everyone to make a difference by helping victims of Typhoon Ondoy through Sagip Kapamilya's relief operations. "Actually hindi ako masyado aware nung una kasi pagkagising ko brownout [sa bahay ko], tapos walang battery yung phone ko, so pagkakaalam ko lang may ulan. Pagtingin ko sa labas ng binatana wala namang baha, wala namang traffic. Kumbaga hindi ko alam na ganon na pala kalala yung sitwasyon hanggang sa nakauwi ako sa bahay ng lola ko. Kaya nung napanood ko yung news sa TV nagulat ako, dun ko nalaman na nagka-baha. Then the next day nagtelethon na kami for ABS-CBN," he recalled. But when he learned the gravity of what happened around the metro because of the typhoon, he immediately volunteered to pack relief goods at the Sagip Kapamilya center and to distribute them to evacuation centers. "The telethon was really an awakening for me that's why I did what I did. Like I said, there were so many sad things I heard from the telethon and I was really affected by it.
