Jennylyn Mercado and Mark Herras tackle mature roles in "Paano Ba ang Mangarap?"

Love team and ex-couple Jennylyn Mercado and Mark Herras are reunited in GMA-7 Sine Novela Paano Ba ang Mangarap?, where they get to play the roles originally portrayed by Vilma Santos and Christopher de Leon.

On the set of GMA-7's newest Sine Novela, Paano Ba Ang Mangarap?, Startalk was able to interview its main stars, Jennylyn Mercado and Mark Herras. By the looks of it, the young love team and ex-couple looked so excited on their first taping day.

Jennylyn and Mark are reprising the roles originally portrayed by acting greats Vilma Santos and Christopher de Leon in a Viva Films classic movie.

"Excited!" commented Jennylyn. "Siyempre, pinag-aralan mabuti ang mga character and yung script. Siyempre, mga eksena. Naku, magugulat sila [the fans]!"

Mark couldn't agree more. "Lalo na ako, kasi ako parang katulad ng naririnig ko na maraming mga old supporters ng Mark and Jen na naghihintay sa balik-tambalan."

With their revived love team comes a more mature aspect on it as Mark and Jen gave hints of a more daring team up on their new show.

"Medyo matured ang role," Jennylyn said. "Tapos iba yung takbo ng story. Medyo may kaunting skin."

"May mga scenes talaga na dapat paghandaan," admitted Mark. "Katulad ng mga swimming-pool scenes.

Are the two also preparing for the love scenes?

"Siyempre, pag-uusapan namin kung paano," said Jennylyn. "Si Direk [Joel Lamangan] na rin ang magpapaganda...sobrang challenging ito para sa akin."

"Nadadalian si Direk Joel to work with us kasi nakatrabaho na namin siya," added Mark.

For now, the love life of Mark and Jennylyn are stagnant and the people connected to them before are now involved with someone else. Mark's ex-girlfriend Lian Paz is now linked to Paolo Contis.

"Wala akong bad reaction diyan," smiled Mark. "Basta ang sa akin naman, si Pao yun, e, so walang problema sa akin yun."

Has he and Paolo discussed this already?

"Walang pinag usapan," said Mark. "Parang gets na namin yun, e. Hindi na kailangan na magtanong doon. Family ko na yun, e, kapatid ko na yun. Gets ko na yun. Past is past. Tapos na."

Mark and Paolo have the same manager, Lolit Solis.

For Jennylyn's part, it is said that her ex-boyfriend and father to her kid Patrick Garcia is courting young actress Glaiza de Castro.

"Eh, di maganda. Okay talaga sa akin. Okay yun!" was all she could say.
