Jericho trying his luck with Karylle

WHEN Karylle was asked what she discovered about herself after her split-up with her boyfriend of four years, Dingdong Dantes, she said in an interview with Star Studio: said: "I realized that I can move forward."

Now that Karylle is busy, it has become even easier for her to put behind the grief she suffered immediately after her break-up from Dingdong. She confessed she really cried buckets.

There are those who tell her that for a total healing, so to speak, she should start dating, if not fall in love again.

Karylle laughed and said: "I’m in no rush. There’s a time for everything.

"But one day soon, I do hope to fall in love again. As of now, one thing I’m sure of is that I feel very comfortable with myself."

Asked if she would consider a reconciliation, her quick reply was: "As far as I’m concerned there will be no reconciliation for us, ever."

It’s a pity that when reports reached us that Jericho Rosales has made an attempt to court her, we had already talked with Karylle. But if we know Karylle, based on our short conversations, she is the type who wants everything to happen at the right time.

Okay, Karylle, good luck.

Losing to Anne Curtis in the best actress category at the Metro Manila Film Festival Awards has not affected Ai Ai de las Alas a bit. After all, most everyone who saw her performance in her MMFF entry, "Ang Tanging Ina N’yong Lahat," say that she did a good job playing a woman torn between her duty to her children and her work as the president of the republic.

"In the first place, I didn’t expect really to win an award for the movie. Sabi ko nga, ang dalangin ko ay maging blockbuster ang pelikula," said Ai Ai, "which is likely na magaganap.

Ang Tanging Ina N’yong Lahat’ is considered the top grosser of all the entries sa MMFF. Ayoko po namang abusuhin si Lord."

She spent her Christmas with her three kids in their house.

"Ipinagluto ko sila," she said. "At iyan din ang naganap sa aming mag-iina ngayong Bagong Taon. Bihira kasi kaming mag-bonding.

"Kapag nasa bahay ako, nasa school silang tatlo.Kaya, ngayong may time kami for each other, I want to take advantage of it."

Ai Ai’s eldest son, Sancho, is now in college. The younger ones, Nicolo and Sofia, are in high school.

Ai Ai agrees that Eugene Domingo was a big contribution to the success at the box office of "Ang Tanging Ina N’yong Lahat."

"We are a good team sa comedy," stated Ai Ai. "Swak ang comic timing namin. Like me, she’s funny, both before and behind cameras."

She and Eugene, Ai Ai revealed, hit it off when they worked together in the original "Ang Tanging Ina." While working on the movie, which also had Wenn Deramas at the helm, they had discovered they have a lot in common.

"We are both pranksters," said Ai Ai. "But we can be serious, too. Especially when it comes to our work."

They became even closer when they did the TV version of "Ang Tanging Ina."

"Doon, weekly kasi kaming nagkikita."

The follow-up movie to "Ang Tanging Ina," "Ang Cute ng Ina Mo," also featured their team up.

"But this one (referring to ‘Ang Tanging Ina N’yong Lahat’) is our best movie, so far," Ai Ai further stated.

Do you know that both Ai Ai and Eugene are college graduates?

Ai Ai finished Masscom from the Far Eastern University. Eugene is a Theater Arts graduate from the University of the Philippines.
